Street Style - My Kanken

Since my youngest has started running around like really keeping me on my toes I have dropped the changing backs and wanted to opt for something more practical but also very stylish to carry our day to day essentials. Of course, the first thing that came to mind was a Kanken by the Swedish outdoor brand Fjall Raven, a backpack that was designed in 1978 and has continued its popularity through it's simple and modern design. Wearing Kanken backpack, Toyshop chambray, Jojo Mama Bebe dress Sometimes when I do go out I opt for a smarter bag but these are perfect for when your busy and on the go, plus the choice of colour waves is amazing. I decided to opt for this fun blue one which adds a pop of colour to any casual outfit. Today I paired it up with a Chambray from Toyshop and a dress from Jojo Mama Bebe and necklace from Anchor and Crew. As daily backpacks go these are these are slightly more pricey than normal high street brands (but far more durable) retailing at a......

My top 5 Interior and Lifestyle Stores in St Davids, Cardiff

Enjoying an evening of shopping in St Davids Centre at 14 weeks pregnant It was recently St Davids Cardiff birthday and they sent me some lovely little things from a few of the stores in the shopping centre and being a regular to both the independent Arcades and St Davids I thought I would share my 5 favourite Home, Interior and lifestyle stores which are perfect for picking up those last minute things for Christmas. The White Company My first port of call is always The White Company for some simple interior inspiration where less is more and done to perfection. It is quite pricey but everything is of the highest quality and their candles and diffusers make great affordable gifts which won't disappoint. I have been eyeing up their bedding and hope to pick some up for our new bed in the New Year. I love these lights from John Lewis John Lewis John Lewis is one of those great department stores that has an amazing Home and Interior section as well as s......

Stripes, Kamigata and Street Style Sunday

Earlier this week I was kindly invited to the Kamigata birthday bash at their St Davids Cardiff store and for those who don't know who or what Kamigata is it's basically one of the top hairdressers and beauty Salons in Cardiff - in fact I wrote about their express pamper service a while back. They had paired up with the Vivienne Westwood store which is just around the corner from Kamigata to do a season predictions showcase and their were a few pieces I really loved.  I knew it was going to be a very stylish affair and thought it would be a great oppurtunity to wear my lovely new Joules striped autumn dress, which I have to say accommodates my growing bump perfectly and can be dressed up or down. Wearing - Joules dress, Gifted jacket, HM boots, New Look necklace  There was a lot going on at the event with various treatments on offer including facials, reiki and what I opted for a mini manicure, something which was on my list of things to squeeze in before the......

Vivienne Westwood and St Davids Christmas

Our lovely mixologist from Kapu Lounge and the British Chase potato vodka - you must try!! Two weeks ago I was lucky enough to be invited to a VIP Reception of the St Davids Christmas Shopping night and also have a sneak peak at Vivienne Westwood's new arrivals. As always it's great to meet up with other bloggers, catch up and see whats new in Cardiff. The VIP Reception had a casino theme with some amazing drinks by the lovely staff at The Kapu lounge who mixed some Chase (potato) vodka with flavours like Rhubarb for some interesting cocktails. There were tons of events going on in St Davids 2 for the launch of there Christmas Shopping nights and before I attended the reception I popped into The White Company to pick up some slippers for the little man,  they offered  their customers bubbly and mince pies - nothing better to get you in the christmas mood. After having a quick look around the other stores in St Davids we all met up again at Vivienne Westwood wer......

Cardiff Blogger Meetup Style

So on the saturday just past was an amazing little meet up of fashion/beauty and lifestyle bloggers in Cardiff, I had met quite a few before but it's great talking to people you have never met and making new blogger friends. Everyone looked very stylish and this is what I wore to the meet... I went for a sort of high street style with a TopShop denim jacket, Next white tee, thrifted River Island skinny jeans, Collection by Debenhams Bag, Joe Browns ring and HM wedge shoes. I opted for wedges this time as at every other meet or event I am often the shortest so I just wanted to add a little bit of height and they are comfy so even though it was quite a long day I didn't have any problems being on my feet most of the time. The meet started at The Brewhouse - formally the Rock Hard Cafe and it was really nice to see new life coming into this great building. They had some great deals on cocktails - I went for the Cucumber crush - so yummy and they had the Lush Lad......

Watch wish list

Me wearing my thrifted Gap shirt Guess watch on a lovely summery day It's the one accessory that nearly all of us wear or at least own and the best thing about watches is not only are they very practical of course but can also be very stylish, original and unique. Depending on what mood I am in I either go for a small and dainty watch or my bigger and bolder Guess one, although I would love to add more to my collection and have a bit more of a choice. John is currently saving to get a time piece that is an investment and something he can hand down to Mr A one day, his current loves lie with Omega's Heritage and Moon watches. Besides the normal brands such as fossil, Guess and DKNY I am very intriquied and inspired by the WeWood watches, it's an eco-luxury wooden watch brand and they have the ethos of when you buy one timepiece it means they plant one tree - amazing! These wooden watches look so beautiful WeWood Date watch £88.99 Besides the WeWood watc......

Our Amsterdam Style

So a few years back I lived and worked in Amsterdam for an amazing 9 months and will always be in love with this creative and stylish city. As a couple John and I have yet to visit the city together and is on our list of things to do, so when I heard Easy Jet were running a blogging competition I knew we had to enter it. Amsterdam really does have it's own sense of style, with a mix of european and bicycle chic. I have put together a little pinterest board of some of my favourite looks for the city and when we visit one day this is what we will be wearing (hopefully) - this is our " My Amsterdam city break look for easyJet holidays competition " I am big into quirky accessories and love big round glasses and lots of rings and feel they would work well when I am walking through the flower markets in the city. My bags of choice would change depending on the occasion - the satchel would be perfect for cycling around the city taking photos and enjoying the f......

McQueen and Westwood a British Affair

With so many reasons to celebrate what is great about Britain, whether is be the Jubilee, Wimbledon or the Olympics, it's been hard not to get into the swing of things with bunting hanging in every kitchen and cream tea's back on the menu. It's made me think about the amazing home-grown fashion designers this country has produced over the past few years. With two of my all time favourites being Vivienne Westwood and the late Alexander McQueen , if only I could wake up tomorrow with an array of bags and clothes in my wardrobe by these two iconic designers I would be a very happy girl. It's hard not to love these two designers who take there influence from the British Punk movement and if you like me love stud’s, blacks, prints and anything rock and roll they are ones to check out. I have for many years lusted over the Alexander McQueen knuckle duster clutch and one day I will hopefully own one, even though I am a very minimalist person in myself I believe in inve......
