How to wear the latest LFW trends whatever Your budget

Mary Katrantzou LFW collection It is that time of the year again, when we all keep our eyes peeled for the latest trends coming from the catwalks of London Fashion Week. As with every season, the high end designers beautiful creations will be remade and twisted to fit in with the high street ethos, making the latest trends accessible to all. The question is, what can we be expecting to see on the high street come spring 2014? Pretty in pastel pink Pastels were a big hit last S/S and they have returned to the London catwalks for another season. The hottest colour for spring is pretty, feminine pink creating the ultimate in feminine looks through the latest dress trends as well as suits.. Pink is one colour that can work for us whatever our age, especially in a pastel shade as the brighter the pink the harder it is to blend with our skin tones. Now as a busy mum, pastel shades can be slightly worrying; firstly due to their light tone they are susceptible to dirt and secondly ......

London is Burning as Fashion week arrives

Wow! There is no place more happening or more exciting than London during London Fashion Week . I usually attend LFW for at least a day or two but this year due to being in the middle of a house move, work commitments and various other things on this occasion I had to give it a miss but that does not mean I don't keep track of the trends from afar, and it only makes me more excited for the February edition next year, which I will be attending. If you are like me and just missed out don't despair because you still have London Fashion Weekend to look forward to from 19th-22nd which is basically a condensed version of the full week but this time for the public, I am actually going to be in the big smoke over that weekend for the MADS Blog awards and may try stop by if I have the chance. A Yung Du design from a show I attended a few seasons back What I love about Fashion Week is the speed, everything happens at a super fast pace, I love all the new trends, the street sty......

Instagram weekend roundup

So still alittle upset at not being at London Fashion Week this week due to work/life commitments (first time in a few years that I am not there) I have resorted to quite a lot of baking this weekend, which has now lead me to needing to go on a healthy eating diet this monday! Anyway since John and I both had today free we thought we would make the most of it, since it was dry, although very cold and apparently it's going to be raining for most of the week, we though an ouside adventure of some sort was on the cards. So we decided to take a drive to Cyfarthfa Castle in Merthyr (birthplace of Julian McDonald and Laura Ashley) and anyone living in Wales/Cardiff should check this place out, as it really is a beautiful setting. The castle houses a very interesting and fun Museum and Art Gallery, as well as a victorian style tea room (welsh cakes and coffee for me). It's also set in a 160 acre parkland with a large lake full of ducks and a sensory garden and best of all it's all......

Sharing the love Saturday

So I am really really sad not to be at London Fashion Week this week - its the first time in a few years I have not attended, but working freelance sometimes means it's hard to get the time off. But I have booked the whole week free for Sept Fashion Week (which I am really looking forward too) although next weekend Canon Calumet have invited me to work as a press photographer for London Fashion Weekend, so I suppose it's not the same but equally fun :). But in the same vein in London Fashion week - once of the most popular shows last year was TopShops - full of fun and stars adorning the front row. So here is my current Topshop fave looks and they really are mixing it up and taking risks this season. How cute is this outfit!! Love this! Also quite a few of my favourite bloggers and friends are at LFW and would like to highlight the ever stylish Fashion Pearls of Wisdom . She has such an amazing closet of beautiful and interesting clothes and is so orgin......

JazzKatze at London Fashion Week

I was luckily enough to attend the JazzKatze show at London Fashion Week, part of the Vauxhall Fashion Scout shows. JazzKatze or otherwise known as the designer Ayumi was born and grew up in Japan and then went on to study in the UK, this clash of cultures is show throughout her collection, as she uses different fabrics and prints to create at times chaotic but structured garments. I have to say that the Make-up artists and hairstylist did an amazing job for her show as the hairdo's where pieces of art in there own right. Also the little pearl accessories pasted onto the legs and arms where pretty little extras. Blue face man...

Masha Ma at London Fashion Week

So I wish I had more time and more days to spend at London Fashion Week, but the time I was there was well spent. I managed to see a few shoes with the first being the collection of Chinese born designer and graduate of St Martins, Masha Ma. With striking knee-high red boots paired with well structured and beautiful tailored garments left me wanting more. I am sure we are going to be seeing more of Masha Ma. ...

Spotlight on......Jean-Pierre Braganza

He seems to be the one everyone is whispering about but those whispers are getting louder and for good reason. At London Fashion Week I just feel in love with Jean-Pierre Braganza's designs....they are straight, edgy and to the point with bold colours and architectural shapes. I felt like they reveal enough but still hold a sense of comfortability and masculinity in a dress to feel empowered. I also love black....I just do...and I love with his designs black seems to be the basis and then colour is added on top of this. Jean-Pierre said in an interview that he lives and breaths hard rock and industrial music and you can totally see this in his designs, he recently designed some piece's for Nine Inch Nails. He was also personally selected by Karl Lagerfeld to showcase his work as part of Innovation's Protégé Project in 2008.I expect big things are going to happen for this talented designer.               ......

Drury Petit Salon Jewellery Pop up Show

Well, I know it's a little late, as LFW has now been and gone....but so much was seen and done over that week. it's hard to get it all up at the same speed you take everything in. I forgot to mention the great little pop-up showcase that I went to – the Drury Petit Salon. The venue was beautiful and was located just below Hayato Hair Salon on Drury road. The show featured 5 jewellery designers, some had just recently graduated but all were equally talented. Bernice of Macha Jewellery was kind enough to invite me to the private view....and after a long day of walking around and big crowds it was nice to enjoy a smaller venue with a glass of wine and stunning jewellery - I mean what more could you ask for. Bernice's label, Macha Jewellery had started while she was living in New York (so jealous) and continued after her return to London and is now stocked in an array of international boutiques, I loved her jewellery is was edgy and rock and roll-inspired and beautifully hand......
