Summer in my heart

Ever since we have started to have fleeting moments of good weather, blissful warmth on the skin again, my heart has kept into summer even if the season have not, although not too long now. The year is flying by, we are already into May and one thing is for sure I won't be missing any sunny days this summer. I am ready, I have some new boat shoes, short-sleeved tees waiting to be worn and a lovely new beach bag from Joe Browns that I am so in love with and cannot wait to use and being a big fan of Breton stripes this suits me perfectly alongside being able to throw anything into it and setting off on an adventure or road trip of some kind. Floral feeling and Big Beauty Giveaway

So with little spots of warmish days fading away and sandals being swapped for boots, it's a lovely time of the year. I really enjoy watching the colours in nature change from bright summer flowers to deep reds and browns on fallen leaves. I feel even though I am wearing a dress, the shades are that of autumn and the outfit is simple so layers can be added to accommodate the temperature. I am also trying new things with my hair, as it's been many years since it's been this long (I have always been a pixie cut kinda girl) Laura wears - Dorothy Perkins Dress, HM boots, Guess Watch GIVEAWAY I have also been collecting a few bits and bobs over the past few months to put together a very special beauty giveaway for one of our readers to win, fulled with some amazing products to pamper yourself with. Wild and Free

Dream on Dreamer - tee from Glamour Kills Until recently I hadn't heard of Glamour Kills, an independent clothing company from the US, but after winning a $50 voucher from a twitter comp, I couldn't wait to learn more. I love the youthful designs, that are unique but also very wearable and fit my personal style so well, so I went for this cool tee and wooden bracelet with the words "Wild and Free" - something I always inspired to be and something I really want my son to live by. Wild and Free During the week I also picked up a lovely necklace and ring from at sale at New Look. I try to buy things that are going to last or are ethical but with it being a heavy month of bills, it was great to find some beautiful bargains to brighten up my accessory collection. Necklace - New Look, T-shirt - Glamour Kills,  Jeans - Diesel, Jacket - Thrifted, Watch - Guess, Shoes - Peacocks Most days I am pretty busy with the little man so trying to find the balanc......

Stella and Dot trunk show

First of all, what I wore to the Trunk show - I was going to be on my feet for a while so I wanted something casual but also very me, so went for a vintage high street mashup. The jacket is Braemar velvet jacket I picked up from a charity shop a few years back, the T-shirt is from H&M, Next Skinny Jeans, Doc Marten shoes paired with a lovely vintage bag my mother picked up from a market in Italy. My accessories include a peace necklace from Topshop, a ring from Joe Browns and my watch from Guess I had heard of Stella and Dot before but had never actually seen the jewellery in person so it was great to go along to a Stella and Dot trunk show that was happening in Cardiff. The event was organised by a fellow Cardiff based blogger Chantele from Daisy Dayz  so it's always great to support something local. The turnout was not as everyone had hoped but that didn't distract from very stylish and beautifully made jewellery. Louise , the Stella and Dot stylist from Swans......

What I would of worn

On the friday just gone was the tots100 Blog Summit in Bristol - an event I had been looking forward to for the past month, unfortunately the day before I started to feel a bit off colour and thursday night was spent on the couch being very uncomfortable after coming down with the winter stomach bug (norovirus), this meant I was going nowhere on friday, although I did get to see some photos and comments about the event as it was happening through twitter. John would of come with me although he could not get the time off work and I had already picked an outfit to wear and had organised childcare with the grandparents - who came and picked little Mr A up anyway as I was in no way capable of looking after him and myself at this point. Luckily though 4 days later the colour has returned to my face and I am feeling a lot better so I thought I would still share with you what I was planning to wear to tots100 Blog Summit. I wanted to wear something that was casual, comfortable but a......

Goodbye warm summer days....

Is seems like summer never started...and having recently read in the news that this year has been the wettest for 100 years no wonder. We have had the odd warm day...as if only to remind us of the long summers we had in our youth. Whenever it's dry we try to head outside and we decided to explore the local area this time, walking past fields, over the railway and up near the mountain on a very pleasant route which allow Mr A to run around and be the silly energy filled toddler he is. You can already start to see the change of season in the leaves which are now starting the fall to the ground. The walk also gave us a change to wear somethings we haven't had the chance to wear - John rocked a Bathing Ape t-shirt and my little man was stylish in a Ben Sherman Polo and some new jeans form John Lewis and I got to try out my new Moroccan Bazaar bag Crossing the railway and walking up the forest path Last of the summer days Happy to be outside My new Morrocan Bazaar ......

A Summery Outfit

So finally the jet-stream that has been causing all the rain moved away from the UK for a few days so we could enjoy some sunshine and I finally managed to get at least one summery outfit post onto the blog. I think it was also the first time John was seen in shorts this whole year. We spent the day at the fabulous picnic in Cardiff Castle. I wore a dress from H&M with some vintage, thrifted and charity shop accessories and John wore a Ralph Lauren Polo with Asos Shorts. Dress - H&M, Sandals - New Look, Belt - Vintage, Sunglasses - Thrifted, Bracelets - Thrifted, Watch - Guess My charity shop finds Polo - Ralph Lauren, Shorts - Asos, Shoes - Veras, Sunglasses - H&M Conscious range Arthur staying cool in the sun Cardiff Castle ...

When the sun is out so are we

The one thing you need to learn when you live in the UK is to use every ounce of sunlight to the fullest as the winters are long and the summers are often no shows. The past few days have been blissful so we have spent as much time outside as possible, with John even getting a little sun burnt. We have managed to pack a lot into a few days - helping in the garden at my mothers, running through poppies in Bute park and having a lot of fun at the very beautiful Cyfarthfa castle. Summer is also a great time to wear the things that you have packed away for the winter and now seem fresh and new. Here are some of out favourite photos Blowing dandelions  Running through the long grass in Bute Park Our dog Sam ...

Lounge with Junior and outfit post

So we often try and go to new places on the weekend and explore Cardiff - even though it's a small city there is always somewhere new popping up that we haven't tried yet. Unfortunately this does not always go hand in hand with our attempt to eat healthy, as our first stop was Cafe Junior - a fairtrade, organic coffee housed in a beautiful church and provides a haven for families as it has a massive play area for young kids with tons of wooden toys. The staff where really helpful and friendly and I loved my chilli chicken salad while John had an italian burger, with a raspberry and white chocolate muffin as a little treat. Arthur also look very stylish with his Gap jeans and hand knitted cardigan. After Cafe Junior we walked to Buffalo lounge - it use to be a cool cafe bar called Mr Smiths - but what is has been replaced with is equally as cool - really quirky interior which I love!! We only stayed for a drink but the food looks awesome so we will be going back. Arthur loo......
