Even though it's been fairly mild this season, winter is still well and truly here. The other day when we had a bit of a cold snap, while I was out, I realised my nose was cold, which is a sure sign that it is time to have those much needed warming accessories such as gloves and scarfs on hand. As with all the seasons I try and make my clothes last as long as possible and that Slow Fashion is the way forward with sustainability but that doesn't mean you have to be out of trend but instead opting for classic styles with a few on trend pieces to update ones wardrobe, as well as caring for the clothes you already own and opting for quality over quantity. What I love about winter is layering and being able to indulge in all that is simple and cosy and of course being able to justify the need for some new items of knitwear which will keep you nice and warm under a jacket and is also perfect for relaxing at the end of the day with a warm cup of tea or hot chocolate. Supporting local Businesses Made Easy
I have always been a huge advocate of supporting local and small businesses, trying to source your needs as close to your home as possible and not only lowering your own carbon footprint but also supporting the talent within the are you live in. Being self employed myself I know that choosing to meet up with friends at a small independent coffee shop over a chain has a real positive impact and it's those small changes that can make a difference to our local communities. Although things are often not that straight forward and can be easier said than done especially if your looking for specialist help with something such as a home repair, help around the house, are looking to get fit with a personal trainer or trying to find a photographer on short notice to take a family portrait - all of these services could end up costing a lot of money and you know want to have some kind of reassurance that your money is being well spent. Back in the day reputations were often built up by......

Kids Clothes That Make a Splash
If you love exploring the outdoors as much as we do then you will know how important it is to have the right equipment to keep yourself warm and dry over the colder months and this of course doesn't just mean for yourself but also for your children. The Scandinavians have this down to a tee by keeping the need for fully waterproof kids clothing that is also fun, well designed and on trend and doesn't sacrifice on any of these things. I always believe that as long as you are dressed with the weather in mind it really doesn't matter if it's going to rain because you will be well prepared and as long as you have a decent jacket and pair of wellies than whatever you have underneath will be protected, especially if your planning on going somewhere a little smarter after a muddy afternoon walk. My youngest......
When life starts to feel really manic, which is pretty easy in these modern times as with thousands of people chattering across social media in your pocket it can sometimes feel hard to find the quiet, to reconnect with nature and as a family. If your a regular reader to my blog you will know we love spending time outdoors but even so it can be limited to weekends when it's all four of us and so breaks away that allow you to just stop for a moment and step away from the chaos are what we all need from time to time and Bluestone in West Wales allows for just that. We recently visited Bluestone for the second time, although the first as a family of four and we had four gloriously dry days to explore, discover and soak in all the fresh air. As soon as we arrived at our Skomer lodge which was perfectly located near the village and lake with forest walks running behind it, we spotted some rabbits happily enjoying the sunshine around the lodge and knew it was just the righ......
