This HomeSchooling life

This is coming a few days later than usual as Baby G is going through a major developmental stage which has meant he has been keeping me up all night with waking every 30-45mins so this week has meant energy levels have not been as high as normal. But saying that we have still had a lot of fun and have been embracing every dry day thrown at us and keeping cosy indoors doing crafts on those rainy days. As this is the first HomeSchooling update post of the year I thought I would talk more about what we hope to achieve this year especially as we had a sort of break over the festive period from the more formal learning to just enjoying baking, making and seeing friends and family. So what do we have install for Mr A this year ? 1. He is at the age now that introducing some sports as well as learning key skills such as swimming is very much on the agenda. He already does bouldering which he has made some great improvement in over the past few months and have just enrolled him in......

Win £100 Amazon Gift Card with DC Kids

To be honest we have always kept TV and screen time to a minimum in our house but we also believe in moderation and enjoy things like family movie night as well as kids hour while I prepare supper. I have of course seen changes in Mr A's preferences over the years, starting off with "In the night Garden" and "Sarah and Duck" to "Scooby-Doo" and now super hero and comic book animations. We have always kept things as gender neutral as possible but boys will be boys and he has started to naturally lean towards them. So when we think of super hero the likes of Batman certainly come to mind and DC Kids has recently released the animated Batman Unlimited series in which his crime fighting squad do what they must to keep Gotham City Safe. The DC Kids YouTube channel makes it easy for our kids to watch their favorite DC characters, on-demand, and from any device.  DC Kids is giving away £100 for Amazon, which makes it a great time to check it......

5 Doable New Years Resolutions

Like most I had my fair amount of treats, chocolates and glasses of wine over the Christmas period and I think again like most I could do with a break from all of that but as I get older I realise that drastic changes to my lifestyle is simply not doable as it not only affects myself but my family so as a rule of thumb we keep to an active lifestyle all year round as well as aim for a well balanced diet as I cook all our meals everyday anyway. I do however feel there is always room for improvement in every home, always space to make positive changes, although smaller more doable changes that we can achieve as a family. Here are what I plan to work on this year 1. Get more sleep - this is a huge must for me especially as the baby wakes at least twice during the night and personally I find if I am tired that I don't always deal with difficult situations as well as I would normal or my stress levels are affected so my main goal this year is to go to bed atleast 30mins earlie......
