Growing up and getting strong

I often find myself looking at Mr A in amazement, he is learning so much everyday and his confidence in his own ability has sky rocketed, I really cannot believe how much my little man is growing up and becoming the strong headed individual that he is. He was real due for a new fleece lined jacket as we were still using last years and with a sudden growth spurt it was time to update, I waited for the sales and managed to pick up this waterproof high tech outdoor jacket from Mountain Warehouse for half price - so instead of £70 it was £34 win win and I cannot get over how grown up he looks in it and I can only imagine all the adventures we will have in it. This combined with his Ocean waterproof suit and we are ready for anything. Mr A doing a pose in his new jacket As soon as I showed the little man the jacket, it was on and we were out the door. Taking the dog for a walk down the local cycle track. It was a very cold afternoon but with his thick new coat with a detachable fle......

Swedish Style

So we thought we would get the New Year off to a bang by working on the house. We are in desperate need of more shelves in our new home as well as some coat hangers and such things, so off we went to Ikea for some inspiration. The great thing about Ikea is that it's super family friendly, it's the one place the little man doesn't get bored or start moaning about wanting to go home, with lots to interact with and no problems about him running around it takes the stress out of what would normal be a very boring shopping trip for a three year old. I really love the Swedish prints and textiles in Ikea so I decided to rock my floral printed shirt by Soul and my super comfy red cheeky shoes loafers. John wears - Edwin jeans, Folk Jacket, Grenson shoes, Saint James Jumper. Laura wears - Soul Shirt, Diesle jeans, Cheeky shoes loafers, Guess Watch John rocked his new Grenson brogues as well as a very warm Saint James striped jumper. We ended up picking up a few bits an......

New Years Resolutions and Vegan Love

(image via Free People ) So it's that time of the year we reflect on the past and see how we can improve the future. I always think it's important to have realistic goals otherwise you can often set yourself up for failure so I have gone for simple steps to try and make 2014 a happy and stress-less year. 1. Go Vegan - I am a dairy free veggie and I have a passion for healthy vegan food so this seems kinda obvious. The goal is to go vegan for a year, but why not join in with Veganuary and do it for the month of Jan? 2. Go to bed one hour earlier each night - I know that having an extra hour in bed would do my emotional and physical well being wonders. 3. Get organised - moving house has thrown everything up in the air so getting back to being organised is one of my main priorities 4. Drink loads more water - water is the original super food, it does your body wonders and I never get enough. 5. Look on the Positive side - we had a lot of stress last year, o......

Sunny South Africa

With all this miserable cold rainy weather I wanted to do a little happy travel inspiration post. We have been making lots of travel plans of late and hopefully, fingers crossed, we will be able to visit my hometown of Cape Town near the end of the year, literally dancing up and down at the thought of seeing Table Mountain, eating the gorgeous food and taking my little man to see the place I call home. It really is such a beautiful country with a big heart and should be on everyones must-see list. Simons Town - a lovely beach were you can see these little guys - Jackass Penguins A view across the Western Cape coast line - beautiful This is what you see when your flying into the Mother City Bo Kaap - a vibrant and colourful part of town with tons of history ...
