Lounge with Junior and outfit post

So we often try and go to new places on the weekend and explore Cardiff - even though it's a small city there is always somewhere new popping up that we haven't tried yet. Unfortunately this does not always go hand in hand with our attempt to eat healthy, as our first stop was Cafe Junior - a fairtrade, organic coffee housed in a beautiful church and provides a haven for families as it has a massive play area for young kids with tons of wooden toys. The staff where really helpful and friendly and I loved my chilli chicken salad while John had an italian burger, with a raspberry and white chocolate muffin as a little treat. Arthur also look very stylish with his Gap jeans and hand knitted cardigan. After Cafe Junior we walked to Buffalo lounge - it use to be a cool cafe bar called Mr Smiths - but what is has been replaced with is equally as cool - really quirky interior which I love!! Pontcanna Lovin

There is always that one place in the city you really wish you lived in and for John and I, that place is Pontcanna in Cardiff, fulled of little cafes, delis and boutique shops it's the place we are aiming to live. So when ever the sun is out that is where we try to go as there is a beautiful park to walk in simply stunning old houses...ahh dreams. We decided to try a different place to eat - Diner 77, not the most popular of the cafes simply because it's stuck between the ever so popular Cafe Brava and Cilo's, but either way the food is good, I love their sweetcorn salsa and they have a lot of veggie options and the proporations are huge (good value for money in that part of town) and the staff are very friendly even though they may not be as young and hip like the other places. An outfit for the vintage summer days

So I have been increasing my dress collection at quite a rate lately and when I came across this cute little vintage inspired Vero Moda dress I had to have it. I am big into my sixites feeling at the moment. The material is a little thin, although this is not a bad thing but that makes it even more perfect for lovely summer days drinking Pimms in the garden. So I ordered this dress from Zalando , as with the baby I don't get as much time to visit the shops, except thrift shops of course, which I always make time for. I love to pair up old and new, the heart necklace was found on Porthcawl beach by John's father who is an avid metal detector, it's great, he is always finding little gems. The leather satchel bag is from the thrift shop - Folk Farm, in one of the Cardiff Arcades, the guy who owns it is literally one of the nicest people I have ever met, with a real San Francisco laid back vibe to him. My shoes I have had for years, they are brown suede heels from The Off......

All is well

So it's all been rather interesting of late, two weeks ago John and I where watching a film with big mugs of coffee in our hands when John started to complain of extremely bad stomach pains - turns out his appendix was on the way out. He went to the hospital on Thursday and was out on Sunday...less and appendix of course. So the past two weeks have involved a lot of slow days trying to keep John comfortable and making food - banana lollies, blueberry muffins and Butternut squash soup. Finally though on Wednesday John was well enough for us to venture out to town in search of American style pancakes which for some reason seems pretty hard to come by the Cardiff City Center. Anyway we did find some at Garlands Cafe - which I have to say despite the dimmed interior is an amazing yummy place to eat with really friendly service - we will be back!
