Huntstile Organic Farm Part 2

So after a manic past few weeks I have finally found the time to put together a little vlog about our stay at the beautiful Huntstile Organic Farm in Somerset this summer as part of Dorset Cereals search for the Best B&B in the UK, you can see my first instalment about this wonderful B&B here . It truly was one of our highlights of the summer as we had three blissful days of sunshine, wide open spaces to roam and explore, delicious breakfast each morning and a relaxing pace of life, we couldn't ask for anything more really.  I often think the more simple the break the better, we didn't have any grand plans of what to do but mainly enjoyed the surrounds and the owners of Huntstile really encourage you to explore the farm, have a wander around the vegetable garden and poly tunnels, feeding the farm animals in the morning to relaxing in the large living room cozying up with a book and a cup of coffee. While we were in Somerset we did do ......

Don't Fear the Mess

Babies make mess, it's a fact of life, from the moment they arrive they throw our homes into a happy state of chaos but as long as you make sure they are well fed, loved and changed than you really don't need to get to hung up on the mess in the early months, just enjoy your time with your little one. If you have those key basis covered then generally babies are jolly little things although of course when teething or nappy rash or any kind of skin irritation appears it can cause a normally happy smiley child to become grumpy and miserable. We try and keep our routines simple and use as many nature products as possible although when Pampers asked us to take the #PampersPooFace challenge and to show that their new sensitive baby wipes are milder and more PH balanced that cotton wool and water as well as being dermatologically accredited by the Skin Health Alliance I was at first both apprehensive and curious and was keen to know more and take the challenge. So watch......

Bluestone Log cabin and Family travel

As some of you may already know we recently had a 4 night mid-week stay at the stunning Bluestone National Park Resort in West Wales - you can see what we go up to in my last post about this trip. This time however I am talking more about the accommodation side of things. We stayed in one of the Ramsey Lodges which sleeps up to 4 people in two bedrooms (one with a double, one twin). It's upside down living, which means the open plan living room is upstairs which gives you fantastic views across the resort. Upstairs was all open planned with a dinning table and chairs where we ate every evening, then a relaxing area with couches, coffee table and flat-screen TV and of course the kitchen space which was equipped with everything you needed. There stairs were fitted with child locks making it nice and safe for young children and the lodge was spotless when we arrived.  The bedrooms, which are located downstairs each had their own en-suite, one ......

Pregnancy update, Nonabox and Project-B

Wow it's been so busy lately, in fact crazy busy would be the only way to describe it. I cannot believe I am 28 weeks pregnant today (Monday) eek into the third trimester I go. So I thought I would do a round up of what has been going on from 25-27 weeks. Well with lots events and trips to London keeping me on my feet I have started to feel a little bit of an energy dip mainly due to things becoming more uncomfortable at night and finding it harder to get a good nights sleep. For the first time I have been experiencing a bad back and rib pain something I didn't really have with Mr A but then again every pregnancy is different. What I have found though that eases it the most is keeping active, I discovered this after having a down week where I thought I would take things easy and it was actually a lot worst and I realised that Mr A and I love our outdoor walks every day or swimming and adventures close to home and further afield and it seems the best idea to just keep to......

It's the little things in life...

Having short hair was way more niggle free than my longer style - tempted to go back to the pixie style  There's a fine art to looking like you're in control and sometimes it is the most insignificant things that can really start to bug you, especially if you're a busy mum. When you've managed to leave the house, avoiding any full length mirrors on the way, there's the usual dash to the bus stop. However, it's generally around this time that those little things start to wield their power. How exactly do you get onto a bus in a dignified manner when it pulls up with half a mile's gap between it and the curb? At this point, the exact moment when you are least able to do anything about it you'll realise that the those brand new trainer socks have decided to wriggle down under your ankles so they're now competing with your toes for space. Ah, life's little niggles! What doesn't kill us makes us stronger, apparently... We all ha......

Fathers Day Dreams

I loved my childhood spent growing up in South Africa and I love that I came from multi-national family with my father being South African with German descent and a Welsh Mother, it always meant that there was something interesting going on in the house and I always thought the word "cwtch" was normal (although my friends had no idea what I was talking about). My father really implored that with hard work anything was possible and having funded himself all the way through three University Qualifications and his friends would always say "every rand was a prisoner" as he lived on air as a student while some of his friends were already out making money, he did this to insure he had a great future. It was all worth while and I will always be in awe of him, he constantly inspired me and impressed me with his love for life, travel and viewing the world with an open mind. Unfortunately he is no longer with us but I can still hear his laugh and see him listening to ......

Solving an interior challenge with a bedroom makeover

After doing a social media shout out to my followers and having a great response, I was really excited to be working with young couple Rhian and Gareth, who have only recently moved into their first home and need some help in turning their uninspiring bedroom into a place that showcases their personalities and brings a little bit more style and colour into their home. They are planning their wedding later this year and have no budget to do anything with their bedroom which made the makeover that little bit more special. I discussed with them what they wanted to achieve and we put together and inspiration board of ideas. We also discussed simple storage ideas as there was a little bit of an issue with clutter. “By simply organising books and beauty products into stylish storage cases it really makes the room feel more streamline and spacious.” Bedroom before the makeover We were really excited to see what we would find at HomeSense and went in with an open mind a......
