The Joys Of Eating Street food!
I'm going to put it straight out there: I love street food, especially when travelling and exploring a new city or destination. Street food offers a budget-friendly way to eat local delicacies and try new dishes and great for when you. are hungry and on the go. With the growing trend of street food around the globe, making it more accessible, you can find a street food venue almost anywhere these days. You can enjoy a fresh and spicy Mexican taco, a plate of delicious pad Thai, or a hot Cuban sandwich just by walking down a busy street! As I've mentioned not only are these street food options extremely tasty, they are also great value for your money! You can enjoy a lovely breakfast roll, or a quick beef kebab lunch just by strolling down to your local food market's street food stands, or mobile food trucks when you happen on them! The search can be part of the fun, but you never need to look too far to find great street food, that's how popular a movement it's b......
*AD - We were kindly invited by Wahaca to try out their family-friendly menus - words and thoughts 100% my own I love Wahaca , every time I've eaten there I've come away having enjoyed every single plate, I'm a fan of street food style dishes which they offer in perfectly sized portions and their food is authentic, fresh and vibrant, plus the cocktails are really tasty too. Saying all of that it's always been somewhere I've gone with friends and never with my kids so I was really interested to see what they had to offer for younger diners. I was recently invited to come and try out their family-friendly offerings and as I have a passion of travel and sharing as many cultures and influences with my children, I was really excited for them to try far superior versions of the taco's I make at home. So my closest Wahaca is in the centre of the vibrant Welsh capital that is Cardiff, which has become a real hub for foodie delights. The restaurant is very light and ai......

Fun Ways to Meet, Socialise and Date in 2021
This is written in collaboration with Get Blogged All of our lives have been brought to a halt over the past 18 months and nearly all of us have had to make changes in our lives especially when it has come to seeing friends, family and making new connections. Grandparents have had to get to grips with technology such as Facetime, Zoom and Whatsapp to stay in touch with their loved ones and for many, our work and social time have switched from in-person interactions to online video dates. But this sudden switch in how we interact with others doesn't mean we cannot meet new people and develop new relationships or strengthen existing ones and on the plus side, the UK is currently opening back up, meaning we can now meet others for socially distanced walks or a drink in a beer garden. Of course, if anything is to go by from whats happened over the past 18 months, we cannot be sure it will stay this way as we could face another wave of infections in the future and therefore possible res......
Does anything scream summer more than street food and festival vibes? I find letting go of eating al-fresco and long evenings very hard so having the chance to enjoy it one last time before the Autumn weather really sets in was an opportunity to good to miss and when we heard about the SouthernSundown happening the last weekend of September we thought why not head down to the beautiful coastline and enjoy a cheeky G&T. Hosted at The Barn at West Farm in the small Welsh coastal village of Southerndown, a venue I have wanted to visit for a while and was the perfect location, with some of the most inspiring cliff side views across the ocean you couldn't get a better place to chill out, listen to live music and eat an array of good food. I have to be honest and say it wasn't the warmest of Sundays, in fact the Saturday had been so gloriously sunny we had been hoping for the same but the one upside of that was it was quieter meaning no queues for all the deliciou......

Street Food Cardiff - What we thought
Summer is now truly over as we embrace all that Autumn has to offer which we also means we wave goodbye to the 5 week long Street Food Cardiff Festival or SFC for short at Sophia Gardens, like most we love seeing events like this being organised in Cardiff as it gives a platform to the food truck movement happening here like many other cities and allows for smaller independent food business to share their creations with hungry visitors in the Welsh Capital. This is not the first time we have been as it's somewhat of an annual event and my eldest loves going. We decided to head into town one Sunday and made an beeline for SFC as it had that laid-back atmosphere and social feel we wanted on a weekend, with good music and of course an array of food options. This year they also year had a small kids area with a few hay bales, badminton rackets, colourful bunting and of course the popular tuk tuk vehicles to sit on and eat your food. Also this is pretty much an all-weather ......

Summer in Cardiff City
So the summer holidays are officially over and even though the weather was a little hit and miss we still managed to do loads of fun things in the Welsh capital. I was lucky enough to attend a few events, try out some new places to eat, spend time with friends and local bloggers, so I thought I would share a few of the happy moments captured over the summer holidays. Like many cities around the UK there has been a real food revolution, especially with the more unusual, interesting and quirky, seeing a rise in food trucks and street food which accumulated in the Street Food Circus serving up some delicious bites on the weekends in Sophia Gardens. So of course we made sure to stop by after a wonderful walk in Bute Park and while the boys enjoyed the Brûlée Bar we enjoyed some halloumi bites and local craft ciders. Two of my favourite events and meet ups over the summer were firstly a Pizza and Cider pairing night at The Stable which has become one......
Around this time last year we were coming back from a week-long trip to Amsterdam, we had spent a few days in London before taking the train down to the coast and the overnight ferry to the Hoek of Holland, then a high-speed train into the city as part of the Rail Sail ticket Stena Lines offers. That trip was not our first family break to the Dutch Capital, in fact, the year before we flew from our local airport with KLM , a very quick and easy trip from Cardiff and KLM flies from most UK airports maki,ng Holland a very accessible destination. For some people Amsterdam may not be their first choice when thinking of a family-friendly European destination but it truly is a wonderful city that you will fall in love with as soon as you arrive. The locals are very friendly and welcoming of families and there is a fantastic array of things to see and do. If you are only going to be in the city for up to 72hrs I would recommend getting the iAmsterdam Card which includes......
