Mr A ready for the show At the end of the last month the little man and I were lucky enough to have a little trip to the theatre at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama to watch The Little Angle Theatre puppet production "Dogs don't do Ballet" and we were hooked instantly just by the name, it's screams out curiosity and fun. It can sometimes be hard to find age appropriate shows but this one was perfect for toddlers and children aged 2-6 yrs old. The story is based around a dog called Biff who unlike ordinary dogs likes music and walking on his tiptoes and is convinced he is not a dog but rather a ballerina. This is brought to life through beautiful puppets, ballet music and comedy and it had a lot of laugh out loud moments for both toddlers and adults. It mixes puppets and performers together with the show starting with one of the performers taking the role of the ballet dancer and getting the children to do some ballet moves in their seat, which......

Date night at the Sherman Theatre
With the whole house move, Christmas, work as well as juggling parenthood, it's not left as much time to spend as a couple of late so when we were given the opportunity to have a night out at The Sherman Theatre in Cardiff we couldn't wait. With tickets in hand to watch the wintery themed " The Sleeping Beauties " and a little tipple from the bar on our way in, we really didn't know what to expect, especially when at least half of the audience was pre-teens in age we wondered if it was going to be like watching a children's performance, but we couldn't of been more wrong. The show started with a smokey stage, the witch of the forest singing in the corner and an eerie and enchanting atmosphere, any concerns we had drifted away immediately as we became mesmerised by the beautiful stage set and talented cast. It was one of those productions that had many levels to it and dealt with some serious subject matters such as the wheel of life and death, ......

Vintage Fashion Night
So we had a rare night out in Cardiff on Sunday in aid of Charity, as we love to support anything that combines charity and fashion, which is exactly what Couture for Change did in aid of the Stroke Association . The event was held downstairs at the Walkabout and it made a really good venue as there was enough space for stalls, the vintage boutiques, DJ and catwalk. Unfortunately we arrived a little late as it took a while to get little Mr A to settle and I never leave him with the grandparents in the evening unless he is tucked up and fast asleep. We arrived just before 9pm, just in time to watch the Burlesque act which was really good but as the act went on the security felt they had to stop it, which was disappointing, I mean it's a bar and we are all adults. We did get to watch the Hobo's vintage fashion show, which showcased some great outfits. Pennylane vintage stall was also there selling some great accessories and clothes, I saw a pair of brogues I fell in love with exc......

I like to move it move it
We had such an amazing evening out on friday as we did our first family trip to the Theatre to see Madagascar Live in Cardiff, I had taken little Mr A to the cinema and a few puppet shows but we have never gone to a full scale production with John in tow. We were so excited, in fact during the day I didn't know what to do with myself so we planned a little trip to Bristol Aquarium first, which meant little Mr A had a good sleep on the way back to Cardiff and he was ready for his first big night out. Aquarium fun Before the show we had a quick jacket potato fill us up with energy and made our way over to MotorPoint Area, the place was buzzing with excitement, children and parents all waiting for the show to start. Mr A kept shouting at the curtains to open as I had been telling him we were going to see a zebra, lion, hippo and Giraffe. Our seats were great, three rows from the front in the centre and Mr A spent most of his time either on my lap or Johns as he wanted to make......
