If you follow me on Instagram or any of my other social media platforms you will know I recently headed up to Durham for a weekend adventure and some much-needed child-free time and to explore a city we hadn't been to before. I had been invited by Hotel Indigo Durham to spend two nights in this Northern gem of a city and to discover what makes Indigo's boutique hotels stand out from the pack. You may have seen a couple of weeks ago I tried out the Afternoon tea at the Marco Pierre Restaurant in Hotel Indigo Cardiff and have been suitably impressed with both the service and the setting so we were really looking forward to what the weekend had in store for us. I am going to be doing a separate post on our time in Durham and what we got up to but with this post I really want to focus on the actual hotel as honestly is deserves that and you will see why. Firstly the hotel is perfectly located and is a very quick taxi ride from the station in the friendly and chic Trinity ......

Our Stylish stay at the Hotel Indigo Durham
I have spoken a few times about how we are nearing the end of our (somewhat slow) renovation of our current home and will be fingers crossed putting it on the market this year so we can move. This has got me thinking a lot about what we are looking for in our next home, nothing lavish or anything but for a variety of reasons our current house really doesn't tick our boxes and was always bought as an investment to do up and then sell. While our current home does have some pros such as a nice sized garden and a light and airy kitchen extension I do have a list of things I would love to see in our next property although of course we are realistic about the fact there is never a perfect home and you do have to compromise somewhere but not on everything. Character over a New Build I'm just putting this out there but I am not a huge fan of new builds, I certainly wont discount them altogether because at this point we have to consider all our options but we have always lived......

How to supersize your bathroom
How stunning is this freestanding bath, in a treehouse no less If you aren’t happy with your bathroom you can always make some subtle changes that make it more functional as well as more attractive. One of the first problems that you should address is the size of your bath. Making your bathroom look larger can help make it a more comfortable room in your home, so make sure your budget allows you to add some features that can dramatically impact the use of the space in your bathroom. Here’s how to supersize your bathroom on any budget so that you can get the most from a small space that isn’t currently working effectively for you, whether you are looking to do a full-scale bathroom redesign , or just make a few small changes that can have a big impact, here are some ideas. Begin with the Tub The bathtub is typically the most expensive part of any bathroom upgrade, so make sure that the one you choose works well in the space you have. If your bath is too large, it ......

The bath is back
So for the past two weeks the bathroom has been a bit of a war zone. Our bath had sprung a rather bad leak which meant water was running into our living room - not a good look. As we are planning to sell the house this year we were hoping not to replace the bath as it was very solid and when buying the property didn't appear to be an issue but things don't always turn out how you think they will. If we were going to be living here for a longtime we would of gone for a roll top bath and different tiles but when renovating a property you need to detach yourself a little an we opted for something plain and neutral. All I can say is I am very happy to have a bath and new shower back in before the baby arrives. Like I said if we were staying in this house longterm we would of gone with something a little bit different, not that we don't like ours now, it's a cute little room in the eaves which we have made a fair amount of changes too with new floor and wall ......

Bathroom dreams, treats and dry skin beats
So our bath has sprung a bit of a leak...well it's a little bit more complicated than that but after having the floor recently re-tiled and the walls painted with thought besides replacing the glass screen on the bath and a few other little things that the Bathroom was fairly straight forward with regards to getting ready to put the house on the market - alas that is not the case and instead we have to replace the whole bath, the shower unit above the bath and the wall tiling around the bath...all before the baby pops out next month. In the perfect world we would replace it for a beautiful roll top bath but when renovating a property the first thing you need to do is separate your wants and desires to what is the most practical, finically beneficial and what suits the property the best. Of course having a roll top bath would bring the wow factor but as we are marketing it towards families and want to keep the costs down the best options is something simple and less lavish...althou......
