The Perfect Autumn Jacket

*Lighthouse have kindly gifted me a Bowline Jacket for an honest review There is no doubt about it, gone are the warm summer evenings and hello Autumn, jumping in puddles and crunching through fallen leaves. September has brought a lot of rain with it and as the warm weather starts to drop off it means staying dry is really important as there is nothing worse than being cold and wet. I was recently sent a gorgeous Bowline waterproof jacket from Lighthouse to put to the test and it has been perfect for festivals but it's really come into its own this past fortnight with the constant rain and has prevented me getting soaked on many occasions. I have tried a variety of outdoor jackets in the past but nothing is as waterproof as this rubberised jacket which is the same fabric as my kids wet-weathers. The jacket is nice and light while still having a soft lined inner fabric and two large pockets to keep everything you need for a day of adventure. What I really like is it......

Exploring Newport Wetlands & Enjoying the Simple things

The last time we visited the Newport Wetlands we were a family of three so it was really fun to revisit this wonderful place with our youngest in tow as both boys are fascinated with nature, bird watching and exploring new places. The wetlands are around an hour from where we live (it would be quicker if it wasn't for the constant roadworks) and we visited just before the short heat wave and with a slight chill in the air it was the perfect weather to try out my lightweight waterproof windbreaker from Lighthouse Clothing . Newport Wetlands - Outdoor Adventure

We love to explore new places and being members of the RSPB we have been long overdue for a trip to the Newport Wetlands. It took a while to find the place as it's on the outskirts of newport, near the coast and what should of taken just over 30min was closer to an hour but at least we know where it is now as I am sure we will be visiting again very soon. The trip was also well timed with our own preparations with the Big Bird Watch and we have been making our garden more bird friendly of late. On arrival we immediately noticed a beautiful Robin who was singing in the trees - a wonderful way to start the adventure. The centre has a lovely Visitors Centre, Shop and cafe with a lovely view over a lake and beautiful place to sit back and have a cup of coffee, daydream and enjoy the peaceful surroundings. John and Mr A climbing the lighthouse in the play park There is also a great kids playground with a mini lighthouse and ship and after lunch we enjoyed some fun ......
