5 Tips for Organising Kids' Wardrobes

*Contains affiliate links  Organising a child’s wardrobe is something that may seem small and unnecessary but can really help save you time, money, reduce stress and help keep your kid's space tidy. Clothes are often the first thing that ends up on the floor or the bed and making sure they have a spot for everything will keep the clutter to a minimum. Not only that, but it will get them in the habit of putting things where they should be, which they will carry for the rest of their lives. If you think that’s an impossible task, don’t be afraid. Here are a few tips you can follow to organize your kids’ wardrobe. Take Inventory of What they Have Having two boys I do this fairly often as I reuse all my eldest son's clothes for my youngest. You should start by looking at what they have and what they don’t need anymore. This could allow you to clear the wardrobe, but also check what they may need at the moment. Give away anything that is still salvageable. If there are some things ......

Getting school ready with Debenhams

I seriously cannot believe how quick the summer holidays have flown by and school is starting next week! My son has shot up and of course nothing from last year fits him this year, plus on top of that he is changing schools, which we are all really excited about. His new school doesn't have a strict uniform as it's fairly small but they still ask all clothes be practical, durable and long wearing which Debenhams does really well. We stopped into our local store to check out their back to school range which has a fantastic price point as well as quality When it comes to clothes my eldest simply won't wear anything that is not comfortable but he has been wearing this navy jumper for two days straight so I know that is a hit plus its tumble and machine washable and easy to iron making mornings less stressful. Their Uniform collection has been designed to make things as quick as possible, all the shirts are easy care and iron, plus the jackets are shower-proof ......

Kids Fashion - Finding The Balance

When I was younger I was pretty headstrong, my mother would buy me pretty dresses and well let's just say you rarely saw me in anything that I didn't pick out myself. In the end, she caved and would let me dress myself, despite many clashing outfits. Although with age I did develop a more clear style as well as appreciating my mothers classic and timeless look and now I ask for guidance when I'm not sure about something. I think as parents we all want to allow our children to express their personality, individuality but we too want to have some creative control so getting some kind of balance is important as well as finding the perfect mix of clothes that are cool, casual and comfortable for your kids. If finding the right clothes has become quite the headache I have put together a few follow simple yet helpful tips that may help with that balance between finding something both you and children love. 1. Go For the Bright Colours I have to say in my own sty......

Kids Style for All Weathers

If you are a regular reader to my blog you will know we believe in spending time outdoors everyday no matter what the weather (well except storms or Gail force wind) but to do that you need to be prepared and dress suitably which is easier said than done when it comes to kids and clothes that are both practical, stylish and long lasting. If your kids are anything like mine and love to run and jump, climb and basically get covered in mud than you need something that is kid-proof so we were really excited to collaborate with Muddy Puddles again as we really loved their summer waterproof jacket from last season. This time my eldest is putting the Puddleflex jacket to the test and it's great for these slightly colder months as it's lined with a light fleece adding an extra layer of warmth on these wintery days. As some of you may already know I am on a minimalism mission and we are collectively trying to reduce, re-use and only invest in good quality long lasting ......

Street Style Sunday - Mini style

We were recently asked if we would like to work with the stylish online kids store that is Melijoe.com an amazing online shop just for kids that stocks some fantastic clothes and captures the fun nature of children's fashion and I thought what would make a better Street Style Sunday than a mini-me version this week . From well known designer labels to more independent and quirky brands it's a great place to pick up something a little bit special. I love all the French labels they have and when I saw this IKKS yeap tee for Mr A I had to get it as it's so fun and perfect for an active boy. I  paired up the pop art tee with a Pepe skinny jeans, both of which are robust and well made and Mr A has been sure to put them to the test with lots of recent outdoor adventures in this outfit. Mr A wearing a IKKS tee As some of you may already know John is a sort of collector of all things Ralph Lauren and has been eyeing up the bear jumpers they do for himself so w......

Catapult clothing giveaway

Mr A rocking an Epic Catapult tee We love nothing more than supporting and featuring small independent British clothing on the blog so when the lovely people at Catapult clothing got in touch we couldn't wait to hear what it was all about, especially since there seems to be a lack of decent boys clothing that encourages adventure and fun. The company was only started last year, by two London mums who have 6 boys between them and together they have rolled out 5 limited edition t-shirts with more designs and hoodies in the pipeline. The t-shirts are bright, fun and simple in design and range from 5-12yrs old - perfect for the outdoor loving boy and best of all is I am going to be giving away a t-shirt of their choice to one lucky reader - it's super simple to enter a Rafflecopter giveaway ...

Street Style Sunday - a Year in Review

Some of my favourite outfits of 2014 So with it still being January I love to look back over a year and pick our favourite outfits and basically have a moment of nostalgia and being apart of Street Style Sunday linky with Natalie from Style Me Sunday has been so much fun I thought I would share some of our favourite styles John, myself and they little man have posted over 2014. Looking back I embraced different types of fabrics, cuts and styles from trouser suits to skirts and tunics while John brought splashed of colour into his life from his Green Patagonia jacket to a blue Ralph Lauren jackets and lots in between. A few of Johns looks during 2014 The little man has also been finding himself in terms of what he does and doesn't like to wear and is pretty headstrong about it as well, of course it switches from one thing to another very quickly - at the moment he loves camo prints and he found it really hard to let go of shorts after summer ended but it's love......
