My morning Elixir

So far this year has been somewhat up and down for me in terms of health and wellbeing. At the end of last year I felt really burnt out both physically and emotionally after nearly 3yrs of interrupted sleep as we have struggled to get my youngest to sleep through the night (something which is still problematic) as well as extended breastfeeding, working, juggling motherhood, sleep deprivation and losing some people very close to me to cancer. Well the time has come to work on myself because it really is true that as mothers we tend to look after everyone else's needs before our own. A little Instalife

Around once a month I like to do a little instagram round up of what we have been getting up to as they are of course little snapshots of our life and help capture those little moments and simple pleasures. We are counting the days down to officially welcoming Spring and have been making the most of every dry day that has come our way, as well as making new things and discovering new places. 1. Loving this simple Apple, Cucumber and Lime drink 2. Enjoying the sun rays in North London after visiting The George Home 3. Capturing Colour in Cardiff on St Davids Day 4. A walk in the park with my little knight 5. A tired baby G after an exciting day out in London 6. Cooking up a yummy root and kale soup 7. Getting ready for mothers day with this beautiful Thortful card 8. Treading the boards and trying out the new pastries at Brod , Danish bakery in Pontcaan 9. A city adventure with this little man, dressed for the cold. What have you been getting up to this month?...

One the flip side we have been trying to see the beauty in the small things, breath and take a moment and be grateful for all that is good around us. Something we try to do often and I think is good for when you have one of those weeks which just becomes too much. I was driving in the car this week, lost in a world of thoughts when I realised the rain had stopped and the sun was so beautiful having broken free from the clouds and there was such a simple beauty to it all which you can miss so easily if you don't open your eyes and enjoy the world in front of you. We have indulged in the senses with fresh flowers in the home, a wonderful bicycle ride in Pontcanna park, trying out some delicious Caw......
