As some of you may already know, myself and three other bloggers do a monthly roundup of what Home Schooling or Home Ed looks like to each of us and what we get up to and here are some of the highlights from the last month. It's been a bit slower than usual, with less outdoor adventures due to both the boys coming down with bad colds and coughs (as well as myself) but we are not back on form *well almost* and we have ramped up the Christmas crafting and getting into the festive season. One of our favourite things from the past month has to be the JacDo Christmas Craft session at Chapter in Cardiff with a few other local bloggers and their kids. The lovely people at JacDo had setup three tables each with a different craft, all perfect for young children to get stuck into and get creative with. 5 Top Tips To Make Learning Fun
Since having Mr A at home we have found that we have naturally started working in a certain way, we love outdoor learning as this seems fun and natural to us, as well as painting, drawing and crafting a lot these days and have made a learning station for him. For the first time we have also started to embrace technology, something I was pretty strongly against but with heavy supervision we have seen some benefits from things like learning eggs and fun maths games. Of course this whole journey and experience is a learning curve for all of us. We can see the benefits for Arthur dealing with real experiences every day such as counting change when we go shopping or having to pay the bus driver, how long it takes us to drive places and socialising with his friends who are of slightly different ages. He has really started to come out of himself and grow into his own person which is such an exciting thing to witness. We don't always get it right but so far it's been pretty fun. ......

Wellies, Puddles and a Castle
We love spending time outdoors - fact! But when winter draws in it means the all weathers and waterproof jackets come out along with the wellies. The little man loves jumping in puddles (as do I) so when the lovely people over at Clarks asked us to put some to the test as part of the #StyledByClarks campaign and of course we couldn't wait to get started. I recently attended the Clarks Press day in London and just have to say they have some of the best shoes for kids ever, so fun and innovative. Our local store in St Davids, Cardiff had a great selection and Mr A was instantly drawn to these pirate wellies which are super fun and cute and have a nice grippy sole which is perfect for climbing castle stairs, rocks and ruins, which Mr A is very much into at the moment.
