If you’ve got a passion or in-depth knowledge for a particular skill or hobby, why not spread the joy by creating either a book, leaflets, workshops or course to share your knowledge? Whether you're an expert or a skilled enthusiast this is a great way to engage others and spark new interests. Here's how to turn your passion into something that educates and inspires! 1. Choose Your Skill or Hobby First things first, you’ll need to decide on what skill or hobby you want to share as you may have more than one. Just think about what excites you most and what you feel confident teaching others. Choose something you're passionate about—it’ll show through in your work and make your content more engaging. 2. Decide on how you want to share your passion Now that you’ve picked your topic or skill, think about how you want to encourage others to learn more or what platform you want to use to share your knowledge. You may be doing this to create a new stream of income or perhaps you w......

Screen Free learning with TIMIO
*AD I was kindly sent a TIMIO to review With children being at home, the days feeling that little bit longer than normal and parents searching for ideas and ways to encourage learning that doesn't involve staring at a screen or frees up a little bit of time so they can catch up on other things is a struggle. My youngest recently turned 5, he hasn't attended school, instead, he has been doing a few mornings at a nature-based Kindergarten which doesn't do "formal" learning (although plenty of intrinsic learning) at his age so I've been using this lockdown to introduce him slowly and gently to things like the alphabet, written numbers, telling the time and basic musical notes. I always try and avoid screens as much as possible especially with young children so when TIMIO got in touch to review their screen-free educational audio and music player for kids, I knew this was something of genuine interest and could be useful for our daily routine at the mom......

A visit to the South Wales Aviation Museum
*Please Be Aware that Due to the Coronavirus that museums may not be open or advised to visit at the time. Please keep this museum in mind for when things change. Please note I have no affiliation with this museum We love exploring what is on our doorstep especially if it's not only fun but educational too so when I stumbled across the South Wales Aviation Museum in Rhoose, which opened last year, I knew we have to stop by and see first hand what it's all about. Firstly the South Wales Aviation Museum is a self-funded, volunteer-run, non-for-profit charity of which 100% of its admission donations go to the upkeep and running of the museum. Under 17's are free and adults is a £5 donation and I can honestly say it's worth every penny. Unlike other Aviation museum's we have been too, they actively encourage visitors to touch and interact with the aircraft and exhibits which makes this a fantastic place for all ages and a great way to immerse yourself f......
If you are a regular reader of my blog you may already know that this year I am working as an Ambassador to the new baby and kids organic food brand that is Little Freddie . I am really excited about this collaboration as I love this small family run business ethos and focus on getting the highest quality ingredients in a portable and delicious way making life on the go easy and healthy for busy mums and kids. They have been working with an in-house paediatric dietician and I was lucky enough to join in a focus and early taster meeting in London earlier this year and seeing a brand grow from the ground up has been really interesting and exciting. Right from the start one of the things that has impressed me the most is the quantity of the ingredients and high vegetable percentage in their simply veg products as well as innovative flavour combinations such as my youngest favourite of Greek Yogurt, Carrot and Sweet Potato which is perfect for weaning and developing tastes. Littl......
Like many kids his age my 7yr old is obsessed with Dinosaurs and natural his also a fan of the Night At The Museum films so the idea of sleeping over at The Natural History Museum as part of Dinosnores was a dream come true on more than one level. Dinosnores runs throughout the year and makes this magical experience a reality for children aged 7-11yrs old and I whole heartedly recommend this, we had a blast. What makes this next year extra special is Airbnb and have collaborated with Dinosnores to offer raffle places to ticket holders to be in the chance of getting one of the coveted Base Camp spots, located at the top balcony of the Hintze Hall besides the 1300 year old giant sequoia overlooking the huge blue whale skeleton, I mean talk about a view! Base Camp As soon as we arrived at the Natural History Museum the atmosphere was buzzing with so many excited children. Despite there being a fair few school classes, cubs scouts and larger groups it was so we......

Bath City Break - Part 1
If you follow us on instagram you might already know we recently jumped on board a First Great Western from Cardiff on a family city break adventure to the historical city of Bath. We love a good train trip and its easy to forget how accessible Bath and Bristol is from Cardiff and it was really refreshing not taking the car and instead enjoy watching the countryside fly by from the comfort of a table seat. We have been to Bath a few times but mainly day trips so we had a few things planned, including visiting the Roman Baths, museums and taking a boat trip on the river Avon. We arrived just after lunchtime and once we found our hotel the Premier Inn Bath City Centre which was walkable from the train station we headed out to explore, first stop however was a cup of coffee and some homemade pastries from Society Cafe, a lovely independent coffee shop and the perfect way to start our holiday. Once we had filled up we made our way over to The Roman Baths, Mr A was particular......

Puffin Rock is coming to the UK
When it comes to screen time we are pretty particular about what Mr A watches, we like to keep things age appropriate and preferably educational or with some life lessons, as well as anything that may inspire creativity or friendship. I think by vetting everything first we can view screen time as a positive thing rather than a negative so we are always excited when we hear about a show that fits our ethos and can't wait to watch the first episode of Puffin Rock coming to Nick Jr this Monday at 6:30pm Puffin Rock is an Irish animation all about a Puffin called Oona who is learning about the world around her while going on adventures on the wild and rugged island she lives on with her little brother and three friends, Children are encouraged to learn and reflect through Oona's own explorations in this beautiful crafted animation with its gentle and soft tones and educational values that make it perfect for the bedtime slot. It's really lovely seeing a nat......
