It might not be the hottest start to summer but it's not over yet and next months forecast is meant to bring the heat (fingers crossed) so we are going to make sure to make the most of it and enjoy each and every day day to the maximum. We plan to have as many picnics, bbq's and al fresco feasts and with any such event having a refreshing drink to accompany good food is a must. So when thebar.com asked us to be apart of their Shake it Up movement we couldn't say now and as soon as we had a mild night earlier this month John and I whipped out the Gin and Captain Morgans for a spot of delicious summer inspired cocktails that are super easy to make and taste great as well. Summer is a time to kick back and rejoice in the good times, break free from tradition and try something new so why just stick with beer or wine and throw caution to the wind and have a hand a making some cocktails? You don't need to be a master mixologist to whip up something tasty and im......

Taste of the Caribbean in Cardiff
Oh how glorious was the weather last week, one could almost have mistaken for thinking it was the height of summer or that we even lived somewhere more exotic. It certainly made my mind wander to thoughts of far flung places, beaches, cocktails and palm trees and around this time of the year our wanderlust and travel plans are always in full swing so when Elegant Resorts challenged us to find a touch of the Caribbean in Cardiff we were very much up for the challenge. Paper style menus Cardiff at times could not more different to that of places like Antigua and Barbados but we were sure we could find somewhere that captures the spirit of these happy sunshine destinations. So after on a beautiful sunny afternoon I met John after work for a late lunch at Revolution De Cuba , a place we have been meaning to try for ages and we were both really surprised we hadn't before as the cuban style interior, relaxed atmosphere and colourful menu has meant this is now a firm......

Garden parties, picnics and Prosecco
Summer is coming soon and with the recent spell of sunny weather my instagram feed has been filled with photos of picnics and enjoying the outdoors, in fact we have enjoyed no less than three picnics in the past two weeks and how blissful it is to eat Alfresco in the sunshine and in this country we really need to make the most of any warm days. Of course when eating al fresco or throwing a garden party you need to think not only about food but also what to offer guests in terms of drinks with things like Pimms and spritzers popping to mind as well as Prosecco - a favorite sparkling wine of Venice throughout Italy. Prosecco really is the perfect social picnic companion with its bubbles and pleasant taste of sweet fruits, and it doesn’t break the bank, meaning you can still throw together a fabulous garden party or midday lunch on a budget. Enjoying some family time eating outside in France last year The reason why Prosecco is the sparkling wine of choice, not ......

Street Style Sunday - Step into the Story
Mr A rocking his new RL jumper So two weeks ago we went on the little man and I went on a mini adventure to Oxford and paired it up with the Bicester Village Step into the Story Christmas Event. We got stuck in traffic on the way to Bicester Village and arrived a little late, we had been told the event was running from 5-8pm but unfortunately the main part of it was over by the time we got there just before 6pm but that didn't stop us having a lovely time. Luckily there were still a few festive bites to eat, mini donuts and a little bar that made me an alcohol free Pink Lemonade. We roamed around the chic shopping village and Mr A picked this lovely little blue and green jumper for the Ralph Lauren Kids store and enjoyed all the christmas themed decorations around the centre, such as the Reindeers and bears as well as a Photo Booth stand were he dressed up as Robin Hood. We had a wonderful supper at the Villandry a before heading back into Oxford and it was a bit of ea......

Vivienne Westwood and St Davids Christmas
Our lovely mixologist from Kapu Lounge and the British Chase potato vodka - you must try!! Two weeks ago I was lucky enough to be invited to a VIP Reception of the St Davids Christmas Shopping night and also have a sneak peak at Vivienne Westwood's new arrivals. As always it's great to meet up with other bloggers, catch up and see whats new in Cardiff. The VIP Reception had a casino theme with some amazing drinks by the lovely staff at The Kapu lounge who mixed some Chase (potato) vodka with flavours like Rhubarb for some interesting cocktails. There were tons of events going on in St Davids 2 for the launch of there Christmas Shopping nights and before I attended the reception I popped into The White Company to pick up some slippers for the little man, they offered their customers bubbly and mince pies - nothing better to get you in the christmas mood. After having a quick look around the other stores in St Davids we all met up again at Vivienne Westwood wer......

How would you say I do?
So if you could do it all over again, if you had unlimited funds, great friends with a farm to spare or a fairy godmother that could magic the perfect place, weather and craft skills to help you with those personally touches, how would you do your wedding? Maybe you are the simple kind of girl like me that wouldn't want a fuss and pops down the to registry office, but then again one can still let their mind go wild and dream of inspiration weddings, the ring, the dress, the cake, the party? I started my Inspired Wedding pinterest board a while ago and here are my favourite dreamy styles for a bid day... I love natural colours with hints of grassy green and wild flower bouquets, hand made gifts, summery drinks and a simple but cute cake.... As you can tell I am a natural, vintage inspired kind of girl, although this looks needs to be done properly and with care, I have been to a few weddings where the little touches are so unique and interesting while others have gone for the ......

Sunday Scrabble
So I am a great believer in late night coffee bars and long weekends, which are extended by hanging out at one on a sunday evening. The past few sundays have been spent at such a place, "A shot in the dark" to be exact, a Cardiff city centre cafe that serves the most amazing carrot cake, big sofa's, an array of board games and a collection of interesting people. Here are some photos from this weekends escapades and scrabble fun (I won heehee) In other news I am looking forward to spending next sunday watching the new Coco and Igor film, it should be interesting. I hope is a french fashion extravaganza for the eye. ...
