Give back with the Toy Appeal at St Davids

As they say the festive season is just as much about giving as it is receiving and the Toy Appeal in St Davids Shopping Centre in Cardiff makes it so easy to give a little back, even when your in the throws of Christmas Shopping. They are simply asking shoppers to pick up an extra toy to donate, that will ensure every child in South Wales receives something special this Christmas. The Toy Appeal is supporting 20 key charities across South Wales including Sparkle, Ty Hafan, Llamau, George Thomas Hospice, Home-Start and Valley Kids. This is the third year we are making a donation to the Toy appeal and I also think this is a great chance to educate children on how important it is to give back and think of others especially as this time of the year and my youngest was very proud to hand over the toy we picked up from Hamleys.  The Donation Station is open until the 22nd December and is located on the lower level near the lego store. Christmas at St Davids & giving back with the Toy Appeal

Is there really a more magical time of the year for children than Christmas? We always try and find a balance between celebrating and enjoying the festive season but also showing our children how important it is to give back, be kind and do our bit for those who are not as fortunate as ourselves. It's easy to forget at this time of the year how hard life can be for those who have very little or are struggling with illness so St Davids Shopping Centre in the heart of Cardiff are running for the second year the Toy Appeal  which helps collect and distribute toys across South Wales and received more than 5200 donations last year. Enjoying an evening of shopping in St Davids Centre at 14 weeks pregnant It was recently St Davids Cardiff birthday and they sent me some lovely little things from a few of the stores in the shopping centre and being a regular to both the independent Arcades and St Davids I thought I would share my 5 favourite Home, Interior and lifestyle stores which are perfect for picking up those last minute things for Christmas. Camping in West Wales

Over the bank holiday we joined a few friends camping right on the tip of the West coast of Wales in beautiful St Davids - the UK's smallest city, really it's just a quaint and picture perfect seaside village but with a very impressive Cathedral that really takes your breath away. Even though we knew it was going to rain during half our trip it really made no difference to us, in fact it made it more of an adventure and there is nothing better than cosying up inside your lovely dry tent while it rains outside - there is something very natural about that. It was also lovely for Mr A to have so many friends to play with - all of different ages and at one point because of the rain they all piled into one tent and all that could be heard was laughter. Clogau opens in Cardiff in style

Chairman Bill Roberts officially with wife Maggie Roberts and Royal harpist Claire Jones For those who have not heard of Clogau before it's a homegrown company that mines for the very rare and stunning Welsh Gold, so it only seems appropriate that St Davids in Cardiff would be THE place to open a new flagship store and I was lucky enough to attend the classy and chic opening. First of all the shop and interior design is beautiful and well laid out in a way the inspires and creates a great in-store experience and I was immediately impressed. The evening included some mouthwatering canapés, champagne and the stunning sound of Claire Jones the Royal harpist - things could not of have been more perfect. Some amazing canapés on offer during the opening night  It's always great seeing such upmarket brands and concept stores coming to Cardiff - it's been long overdue and with Clogau being a Welsh brand I am sure that they will have a lot of success in the Capital. ......

A new tiger in town

Loving the moustache comb  I always get excited when new quirky store comes to Cardiff, especially when it's one that originates from Copenhagen bringing all it's Scandinavian style with it but not a big price tag - I mean total win win so when the new Tiger Store opened up I couldn't wait to go and have a look for myself. Especially since I am always eyeing up things for the new house and with nothing exceeding £30 this is my kind of place. New Tiger store open in St Davids, Cardiff It's also a great shop for finding little gifts for people and it added a little extra spark to our Christmas stockings as there is lots to be found for a few pounds, including some cool moustache boxers and comb and a wooden stacking toy for the little man and a pretty beaded collar necklace for myself and some silver nail polish. Vivienne Westwood and St Davids Christmas

Our lovely mixologist from Kapu Lounge and the British Chase potato vodka - you must try!! Two weeks ago I was lucky enough to be invited to a VIP Reception of the St Davids Christmas Shopping night and also have a sneak peak at Vivienne Westwood's new arrivals. As always it's great to meet up with other bloggers, catch up and see whats new in Cardiff. The VIP Reception had a casino theme with some amazing drinks by the lovely staff at The Kapu lounge who mixed some Chase (potato) vodka with flavours like Rhubarb for some interesting cocktails. There were tons of events going on in St Davids 2 for the launch of there Christmas Shopping nights and before I attended the reception I popped into The White Company to pick up some slippers for the little man,  they offered  their customers bubbly and mince pies - nothing better to get you in the christmas mood. Cardiff Blogger Meetup Style

So on the saturday just past was an amazing little meet up of fashion/beauty and lifestyle bloggers in Cardiff, I had met quite a few before but it's great talking to people you have never met and making new blogger friends. Everyone looked very stylish and this is what I wore to the meet... I went for a sort of high street style with a TopShop denim jacket, Next white tee, thrifted River Island skinny jeans, Collection by Debenhams Bag, Joe Browns ring and HM wedge shoes. I opted for wedges this time as at every other meet or event I am often the shortest so I just wanted to add a little bit of height and they are comfy so even though it was quite a long day I didn't have any problems being on my feet most of the time. The meet started at The Brewhouse - formally the Rock Hard Cafe and it was really nice to see new life coming into this great building. They had some great deals on cocktails - I went for the Cucumber crush - so yummy and they had the Lush Lad......
