I've been slowly trying to build a capsule wardrobe, as some of you may know I am on a mission to minimise my life, I still have a long way to go but at least I'm going in the right direction. It's made me think a lot about my personal style, what works and doesn't work for me and how I can still have fun with fashion. My wardrobe is in somewhat of need of an update but I am taking my time, trying to apply less is more and therefore really questioning my purchases. A personal favourite though has to be a Breton tee, paired up with jeans and it's always a win. So I thought today I would go with this classic style and put together one of my favourite combinations of my Nine West Blue Breton with my Karen Millen skinny black jeans, anchor & crew necklace and Dr Martens shoes. It's simple, chic and perfect for a lunch out in the city. There are a few other pieces I have in mind to add to my wardrobe this summer and that is a playsuit of ......

Doc Marten Cardiff - Highlight
So I really want to highlight some local stores on the blog, as Cardiff is a really great city with a lot of new developments and going's on. I was really happy when Doc Marten finally came to town, it's a brand with such heritage and cultural relevance. Being a bit of a skater punk back in the day, Doc's were always the go to shoe to wear to any gig and I still love the brand today. The Cardiff store, which is situated opposite St Davids 2, in the City Centre, has an amazing selection, friendly and knowledge staff with occasionally guest artists decorating the walls. The did a collaboration with Frontier Tattoo studio a while ago - the same tattoo studio that did both of John's leg tattoos. Whats even better is that have a great kids range and I cannot wait to get Mr A a pair sometime soon, I just think the miniature versions for both girls and boys from cribs right up to teenagers are super cute and on trend for children with a unique and strong personality......

Stripes and a Dungaree skirt
Laura wears - Fred Perry dungaree skirt, Nine West top, Doc Marten shoes So when we were in London recently I managed to have a quick look at the Fred Perry store in Covent Garden and saw this cute little dungaree skirt on sale, I love the workman style feel and look of it and it made of a thick and durable cotton, perfect for both spring, summer and autumn. I also like how the waist is tailored in and gives it shape. I have paired it up with a t-shirt from Nine West and Doc Marten shoes. I know I am going to have fun with this little dungaree skirt and I can experiment with different colours of t-shirts and shirts as well as layer with knits when the weather becomes a bit cooler. Both John and I have also been invited to be apart of the #Voicesofstyle on Oogly.com which is a new fashion/outfit sharing site and a lot of fun to use. I have joined in with What I wore Wednesday linky ...

Rediscovering Hilton and giveaway
Last Monday John and I finally had our first night away from little Mr A as we ventured across the boarder into England and the beautiful city of Bath. We had been kindly asked if we would review the Hilton in Bath and were very excited by the prospect as it's a city we love but don't get much time to visit. After leaving Mr A with lots of toys and big smiles at the prospect of staying with the grandparents we made our way over the Severn Bridge. After parking the car just under the hotel (very convenient), we checked in, I have to say the during our stay the staff were very friendly, professional and informative. Our room was on the 4th floor and had a great view of the city and canal below. What we loved most was the little touches, there was a big chocolate chip cookie with strawberries and olives waiting for us, as well as a thank-you note and bottles of still and sparkling water. Our room was spotless and well designed with everything you need, we loved the chic......
