The Worlds Biggest Coffee Morning for Macmillan

*This post is written in partnership with M&S for Macmillan Big Coffe Morning  I feel really honoured to be partnering up with Marks and Spencer and the Worlds Biggest Coffee morning which aims to raise as much money for Macmillian Cancer Support. I have taken part in these fantastic Coffee mornings for the past few years and it's a great way to have a laugh, eat cake and raise money for this amazing charity. Unfortunately, cancer is most likely going to affect you or someone you know within your lifetime and charities like Macmillan are invaluable during these times. I've lost my Grandfather, Uncle and Aunt to cancer but it's wasn't until 2017 when I lost my two best friends within the space of 10 months to this awful disease that I realised how important it is to do what we can to make sure charities like this thrive and can carry on offering the services they do. So how can you get involved? The Worlds Biggest Coffee morning is taking pl......

How to Get involved with the Worlds Biggest Coffee Morning

Some of you many already be aware that Macmillan hold the Worlds Biggest Coffee morning each year to help raise invaluable fund for people facing cancer. This year it's taking place on the 28th September with Marks and Spencer their headline partner for 9yrs in a row. I myself have attended one of their coffee mornings for the past three years but this time around it's more meaningful to me than ever having lost my two best friends to Cancer in the past year. Unfortunately Cancer is something that at one point in time will affect most of us in one way or another and the services and support that Macmillan offer are a real lifeline for those going through and fighting this awful illness.  Last year the Worlds Biggest Coffee morning managed to raise an incredible £27 million and are hoping to have an equally successful year and there are still plenty of ways to be involved and let's be honest who doesn't love catching up with friends or making new ones over ......

Style - Staying Cosy this Winter

As some of you may know I set myself a Minimalist Challenge this year and it's something I am still working on and will continue to work on throughout next year, I've realised it's a really big lifestyle change and can't be done over night and with two young kids it's something that takes time. I've made big improvements, you may have seen my recent Minimalist Inspired Bathroom vlog  and I am slowly moving through the house.  I have also changed my spending habits and been more selective about the clothes I buy as well as decluttering and getting rid of things I not longer need or use. I have sent so many bags full to the charity shops but it's also made me realise I was in need of some updated pieces to see me through this change in the season so I thought I would share a post on my new favourite pieces I have picked up to keep me cosy this winter. First up is this stupid knitted jumper from Mango, for years I avoided the higher roll neck but re......

Be A part of the Worlds Biggest Coffee Morning

If you read my blog regularly you will know I am passionate about supporting and raising fund for charities that really deserve it, especially as many of these charities offer help to so many in different ways and often rely on donations to keep going. They do say charity starts at home and during this post recession time it can be hard to feel like your able to give much towards a fundraising campaign but this doesn't have to be the case. M&S have partnered with Macmillan for the 8th year in a row to support the Worlds Biggest Coffee morning and who doesn't enjoy a cup of coffee (or tea) and a slice of cake, the great thing is this time all the profits go to Macmillan. This way everyone can get involved, have fun and contribute towards Macmillan Cancer support, a charity that offers such an important service to those going through a difficult time. There are plenty of coffee mornings happening this week all over the UK as part of the campaign including o......

Making Each Day Matter

I have never been that materialistic, from an early age I realised that an evening spent laughing with loved ones was worth more than gold. Ever since I was young I dreamed of dusty roads, music festivals, camping under stars and those intrinsic experiences that would stay with you forever and become the fabric of your being. Before having children I did a lot of self funded travel, working at a variety of backpackers, hostels and hotels, without much of a plan I sought the simple good things and added very little to my backpack I set out with. I have always been a happy seeker being aware that paradise doesn't always last forever and holding onto those sweet perfect moments and knowing when to move on. Of course settling down and becoming a parent has brought so much joy and happiness but also a lot of compromise, a time to be unselfish, establishing routines and making more stable future plans. The thing is it's very easy to suddenly find yourself going through the......

Eye of the beholder

Wow it's been a bit of a manic week after an exciting Fathers Day last weekend and getting ready for a little adventure in London this weekend, time has just flown by but I did manage to pop into town and visited on go my favourite shops - Tiger Store and came across these fun sunglasses and couldn't resist picking them up. If anyone is wondering what they say - beauty is in the eye of the beholder - which I think is so true and reminds me that you need to be yourself, love yourself and have fun when it comes to personal style. Also following on from trying to inject some more ethical style into my wardrobe I picked up this green organic vest from H&M conscious collection and paired it up with my M&S jacket and Karen Millen trousers and Superga shoes which are my go to trainers when running around the city or with my kids. I'm also really looking forward to seeing some friends, old and new at Britmums this weekend so do come and say hi if your there. ......

New Me, New Hair

Have you ever woken up and taken a long look in the mirror and feel like you don't know the person staring back at you? Well there was a moment the other day when shopping for my son that I spotted my reflection and I didn't like what I saw. Now don't get me wrong no one pressured me to lose the weight after having my second baby or to spring back into shape and I wouldn't go as far as saying I had let myself go but I certainly had allowed myself to be engulfed by sleep deprivation, a bad diet and not getting enough (or any) time for myself but enough was enough. After being inspired by fellow blogger Alison from Not another Mummy Blog who has talked a lot about getting out of the style rut, I wanted to follow suit, especially as many many years ago this blog was born out of my love of both clothing, art and interior design and it was time to start feeling like myself again and that meant addressing the thing bothering me the most, my hair.  Last we......

Finding the perfect fit

The struggle for finding the perfect pair of jeans is real and something I have always encountered as being just under 5ft has meant standard jeans are always too long making it no easy task to find a pair that just fit's without having to alter them in some way. After asking my readers if they have ever faced a denim dilemma it was very clear that most women in some way also struggle to find the perfect fit, many with similar problems to mine in terms of length as the standard size is really not one size fit's all and is equally a problem for not only petite women but also taller ones. Some of the other common issue which were apparent is having a different size around the thighs and waist leaving gaps and ill fitted sections or skinny jeans becoming baggy in certain areas or simply not knowing how to pick the right style for the look you are trying to achieve or for your body shape. Marks and Spencer 's got in touch to see if I could find the perfect pair for......

Street Style - My PacaPod

Last week we packed our bags for a mini adventure and one night away with both of the kids in tow and what is always important with very short breaks like this is to keep packing to a minimum and preferably having everything you need in one bag. This however is not alway easy when you need to take into consideration all the things required for a baby when travelling such as nappies, wipes, creams, spare clothes etc so having a bag built for purpose is key and this mini-trip gave me the chance to put my PacaPod Prescott satchel to the test. First of all when looking for a changing bag I wanted something that was stylish, well designed and not too mumsy and that will fit into my busy life. I am glad to say this bag does just that and it's unisex as well with John using it on occasion. It has different compartments and a convenient cold bag compartment which is handy for keeping his snacks at the right temperature while on the road. We spent a few hours in Newbury befor......
