Cardiff Fashion Quarter

So it's official, Cardiff Fashion Week has started! With loads of fashion inspired events happening in and around the city, there is a real buzz around town. On Saturday 20th Oct it was the official launch of Cardiff Fashion Quarter in Womanby Street, which is housed in a former cinema. The outside of the building has been adorned with amazing spray painted artwork and the inside is just as bohemian and creative with lots of different and eclectic stores filled with vintage fashion, art work and oddities. Cardiff really needs something like this, an alternative to the high street and I really hope it does well. There was a a great atmosphere with artists, students, fashionistas and the DJ spinning some good tunes in the background it's a place you want to stay for a while and spend your time looking through the treasure trove that is Cardiff Fashion Quarter . Everyone has a place like this

When things get a bit crazy and you just want to breath in the fresh air, or city life/work/modern living is making you tired, I think everyone has a special place they like to get away too. We are moving home and sorting and packing and the house seems to be constant mess at the moment so it was lovely to get out for a few hours and go to Mr A and mines favourite place, St Fagans in Cardiff. I think the reason why I love it so much is because Mr A loves it, it's a place he can run to his hearts content and there is always something new to look at and the bonus of various farm animals dotted around the open air museum is always a winner. I also love this time of year, especially on a dry, sunny day, as the air is crisp and fresh and the colours of the leaves are golden and fallen to the ground, it's a beautiful time of the year. Welsh Happenings

So there is a lot going on in the Welsh capital and surrounding areas over the next few weeks, with Cardiff Fashion Week and SWN festival I am hoping that the streets are going to be alive with music, street style and culture. To start is wales very own South by South West - the homegrown festival that is SWN . I have been to SWN twice and thoroughly enjoyed watching the Cribs a few years back and they are back again this year! Weekend Review

So John was away this weekend at the Salon trade show in London, which is an event for the hairdressing and barber industry. This meant I was at home with Arthur and would have to keep him entertained, so we decided to take the Aquabus from Bute park in Cardiff to Cardiff Bay - a really fun and relaxing 30min boat trip - which only cost £3 one way which was well worth it. We passed the Cardiff water activity centre and there where loads of rowers on the river. I also managed to pick up a cheeky little peace ring from Topshop while I was in town, it's big, brash and kind of fun.
