I feel the need to get away from it all, somewhere warm and beautiful ( image ) I don't know about you but I am really craving some sun after this seemingly long winter and not just sun but warmth, the kind that brings on relaxed evenings spent in shorts and a t-shirt nearby a beautiful sandy beach. I have been to the Canary Islands before and they did not disappoint and despite some destinations being known for a more party aspect it's still easy to get away from it all and indulge in the local food and culture and this time I have my eye on somewhere like Lanzarote and here is why. Lanzarote is known for its year round sunshine. In the summer it boasts up to 14 hours of sunshine every day. This kind of glorious sunshine makes Lanzarote a perfect location for both sun worshippers and those who just can’t bear to stay indoors on a nice day. Firstly to really discover and explore all the amazing things the island has to see and do then I highly recommend to hire a c......

Our 2015 travel Wishlist
Mr A in Brussels last year If you read the blog you will know we are passionate about travel, between John and I we have travelled to 26 countries and every year we try to make that number grow. In some ways it was easier before having kids but oh how much more exciting it is with Mr A. My father always believed that travel was one of the best educations you could give a child and it's something that we strongly encourage and agree with. Being able to try new food and sample other cultures is the perfect learning experience at any age and even though we are expecting our second child in a matter of days we have some exciting plans, ideas and travel dreams for 2015. The three of us enjoying Amsterdam Overseas A Scandinavian Cruise - we never really focused much on cruises before but last year we did an overnight ferry and Mr A loved being on a large ship and sleeping in a cabin with a big porthole and I think it's the perfect way to see amazing places in a rela......

Exploring Cowbridge
So after a few miserable and rainy days it was so refreshing to see the sunshine, even though the temperature has really dropped we took the first opportunity to spend it outside having fun and thought what better than a little road trip to the beautiful historic market town of Cowbridge in the Vale of Glamorgan. It has a lovely Physic Garden and outdoor spaces to explore as well as one of my favourite vintage indoor markets called Happy Days, where we stopped of for lunch in their quaint little cafe - I highly recommend the homemade vegetable soup by the way. The little man has also recently discovered things like The Scouts and Bear Grylls and as much as I have a total dislike to guns (I really distain them) he enjoyed pretending being an outdoor ranger with his little rifle, protecting all the plants and animals. Cowbridge has some beautiful shops, interior stores and florists and I always feel really inspired after a day out at this chic little village. It was o......

Organic Children sun care giveaway
So it's officially summer, words which makes us very happy. We are very much an outdoor type of family and intend to make the most of the good weather but this does not mean that we are completely going to throw caution to the wind in terms of skincare especially when it comes to Mr A who has fairly sensitive skin. I personally don't like putting unnecessary chemicals on his skin so I was really happy to hear about Organic Children Sun Lotion made by the lovely Green People . Of course though the product still needed to work, which I can say from our experience it does and in fact I use it as well now as it's non-greasy but moisturising and has no hidden nasties in it. I wanted to share some tips about keeping safe in the sun 1. For one the sun is good for us - it provides us with a natural release of Vitamin D which is what our body needs to absorb Calcium. It's also proven to make us feel happier, so do get out when you can but children (and Adults)......

Family camping teaser
So we are back from our family festival and camping trip and we had an amazing time! Wychwood festival was a great start to our summer of fun and their campsite was amazing - big and spacious on Cheltenham racecourse with lots of little hidey holes for children to explore. We spent the whole weekend outside, even though it was windy the sun was out and Mr A loved every second of it. With lots of music, dancing and fun family workshops like working with clay, bubbles fun and storytime in the sun it was a win win all round, plus nothing beats eggs and beans on a camping stove. Here are a few teaser photos from our weekend Walking barefoot Festival ready and watching music with Dad Every week we join in with CoombeMill country kids linky - if you love the outdoors with your little ones why not join in too ...
