Slowing down your life can seem like something of a taboo subject, especially as we live in a world that is increasingly demanding. However, there comes a point when it can actually be the best thing for you, even resulting in greater productivity. But how can this be? There are a few benefits to easing your personal burden, including greater clarity and using your limited energy more efficiently. A calmer mind means more clarity To gain real perspective and clarity esepically on something that is causing us stress, we often need to step away, slow down, go for a walk in nature and come back to the problem with fresh eyes. We can all to often get stuck in a loop of trying to push through an issue even when we are mentally or emotionally overwhelmed because we want to solve the problem as quickly as possible, but often this actually ends up being more time-consuming than if we stepped away for a moment. You Can Avoid Costly Mistakes You are probably already aware that rushing throu......

Autumn is such a wonderful time of the year and offers up a lot of fun activities to do with children and as a family. However it's very easy to get caught up in the commercialisation of every seasonal holiday and also with Christmas on the horizon it can feel very manic as well as expensive but it really needn't be. In fact Autumn is the perfect time to slow down, recalibrate and reconnect with the people that mean the most to you as well as move forward towards Christmas feeling more balanced. Gratitude List and Being Mindful
Every month or so I like to go back through my Instagram which works as a bit of a memory capsule of what we have done over the last couple of weeks and reflect on these moments. In the run up to Christmas I have felt like many very rushed, stressed and short on time, we made big plans for everything we want to do and sometimes just due to not having enough hours in the day those plans don't quite turn out how you would like. However in context to others who are facing real hardship at this time of the year, despite my own personal ups and downs it's really important to remind yourself of the small moments that have made up the month and be grateful for those times. Here is my little list of things I am currently really grateful as well as trying to seek some mindfulness in the festive rush 1. Despite the sudden drop in temperature we have been making the most of each weekend and heaving out to some of our favourite places. This was taken at Dyffryn Gardens , a beauti......

A Beach adventure in Spring
Last week we had our first proper beach day of the year and even though we have taken Baby G to the beach before this was the first time he has really taken it all in, dipping his toes in the ocean and making sand castles with his big brother. With Mr A being at home it means we are lucky enough to enjoy weekdays at the seaside and miss the weekend crowds. We decided to head to Barry Island, even though we are not huge fans of the pavilion with all it's fish and chip shops and out-dated arcade stores the actual beach is beautiful and with some recent regeneration happing in the area it's only going to get better. We have really been trying to slow things down and take in the little simple moments of late and the beach is the perfect spot for connecting with nature and using your imagination. Both of the kids spent hours on the beach with just a bucket, spade and a yellow foam board while enjoying the picnic I packed for them. We also did a little bit of......
