Wow can you believe we are more than half way through November? The festive season really is approaching fast and I think it's safe to say it's officially acceptable to indulge in a cheeky mince pie and hot spiced apple tea (or mulled wine). To me food is very much connected to seasons, celebrations and brings back memories and helps create new ones as you celebrate with friends and family around a big feast of delicious treats as well as making it a time to try new things. What a beautiful setting for a Christmas feast ( image ) Slowly we have found we are starting to let winter and the festive feeling into our homes and lives. I think by planning early this year I am hoping to avoid any stress that comes along with this wonderful time of the year. To me what sums up the run up to Christmas is finding a few quirky and unique stocking fillers, doing lots of crafts and baking with the little man and indulging in some yummy treats such as traditional shortbread and drinking hot chocolate or ground coffee under a cosy blanket. The lovely people at Harvey Nichols sent over a Seasons Eatings hamper and it's been the perfect introduction to the festive season as it's not to over the top but contains all the comforts of the season in a beautiful woven basket.
