Summertime in the UK is a glorious season (when the rain lets up that is) of sun, garden parties, Pimms and outdoor adventures. I love when these warmer months roll around and I can break out my go-to summer outfits and enjoy spending time in the fresh air with the kids. There’s quite a few things on my to-do-list this summer, easy days out and new places to visit and as always we have a bucket list of things we try to achieve each year. If you need a little inspiration – or just want to get the kids out of the house – here are five small things to bring you and your family some enjoyment this summer. Last of the summer strawberries
So about 3 weeks ago we decided to head to the Vale of Glamorgan and to the lovely Hendrewennol Farm where you can Pick your own fruit - it's been one of those places that was on our must visit list during the summer but actually going just after the schools went back was a great idea as we have the strawberry fields to ourselves. Mr A loved looking for the ripe read strawberries which are one of his favourite fruits ever (he couldn't resist a taste either). After a whole summer of people picking them there was not an abundance of fruit but we still managed to get a good amount and its such a lovely and simple pleasure to pick your own. The farm also has Wales largest Maze carved into a Corn crop. We were given a sheet of 10 castles to find in the maze and in each mini wooden castle was a stamp and you needed to get all ten stamps to received a little gift at the end. It was so much fun running around the maze with the little man, in the sunshine, enjoying t......

A little trip to the Zoo

The last time we went was fathers day last year as we take full advantage of the fact that on one of those days either the mother/father goes free and also any excuse to spend some time in Bristol is always welcomed. It was a very relaxed affair, we took our time and walk around the whole place with little snack stops in-between, including an ice-cream stop, which went down well with both the boys. Mr A just loves to run and jump everywhere and even though the animals were lovely too look at it really was like a big playground for Mr A who enjoyed climbing everything in sight as well as playing hide and seek in the willow maze. I was enjoying the day so much with the family that I actually hardly took any photos but the few I did take I del summed up this beautiful spring day which was lovely and warm and was hopefully a ta......
