Why Campervan Culture Is Reshaping Modern Travel Habits

In recent years, campervan culture has emerged as one of the most influential shifts in modern travel behaviour, particularly among younger families, freelancers, and remote workers seeking greater flexibility and independence. I have firsthand experience of camper life, having had 2 campervans and I absolutely love the freedom it affords.  What was once associated primarily with retirees and niche touring enthusiasts has evolved into a broader lifestyle movement. Across the UK and Europe, campervans are increasingly tied to ideas of mobility, minimalism, and off-grid living. Social media has amplified the aesthetic appeal of van-life culture, but the underlying trend reflects something deeper, a changing relationship between people, vehicles, and travel itself. Campervans are no longer viewed simply as practical transport. For many drivers, they represent a more adaptable way of living and moving through the world. The Appeal of Flexible Travel One of the main reasons campervan cu......

Why Last-Minute Holidays are perfect for Scenic Escapes and Culinary Delights

Recent years have seen many holidaymakers in the UK shift noticeably toward last-minute breaks. By waiting until the last possible moment, it can sometimes be possible to pick up flights or a room in a high-end hotel at a considerable discount.  Last-minute holidays are on the surge in popularity , thanks to a few important factors worth considering. Why Spontaneity Wins: Trends Driving Last-Minute Bookings The Travel Trends Survey from PwC revealed a considerable rise in impromptu trips and identified the availability of planning apps and AI tools as a primary driver behind them. These tools have been used by holidaymakers to easily plan trips and sketch out ideas. There are also lots of comparison sites that allow travellers to compare prices and research destinations in a time-efficient way, and allow tourists to book with confidence. 10 Ways to Build a Peaceful Co-Parenting Schedule That Actually Works

Divorce lawyers are often tasked with helping separated parents build lasting solutions for their children’s routines and relationships. Finding divorce lawyers for Brighton , Eastbourne, or wherever you may live, who prioritise collaborative, child-focused strategies, can make all the difference when it comes to creating a sustainable co-parenting schedule. In this blog, we’ll explore practical steps and communication tips for developing a parenting plan that supports stability, respect, and the best interests of your children. 1. Prioritise the Child’s Needs The foundation of any successful co-parenting plan is prioritising the child’s wellbeing. It's tempting to centre plans around work schedules or personal preferences, but it's the child's sense of stability that must come first. Consider their age, school commitments, and emotional needs. For instance, young children benefit from consistency, while teenagers may value input and flexibility. Providing children with con......

Sign the Worlds Largest Mothers Day Card

Mothers day is a time we get to stay thank-you to that special person in our lives who has undoubtedly sacrificed a lot throughout the years and even if that person is no longer here anymore than this can also be a time of positive reflection and sharing memories together as a family. Being a parent myself, mothers day to me is all about the simple things and not about materials good and my kids know that all I really want is a hand made card because to me thats all that really matters (of course a nice magazine or little treat won't go amiss but it's never expected) as well as a relaxing walk outdoors with my boys and I'm happy. Mothers Day is also a time for gratitude and I am continuously grateful to have two healthy children as well as my own health, to live in a fairly stable country (let's not talk about Brexit) and being able to provide healthy meals, a warm home and some holidays, well I couldn't ask for anything more. So I am really grateful t......

7 essential Family Travel hacks to reduce stress

Before I had kids I did a lot of solo travel, working in a variety of hotels, bars and backpackers across Europe, I could come and go as I pleased and when I felt like a change of scenery or simply wanted to move onto another city I could. I did learn a lot about making budgets stretch, staying safe while travelling, packing minimally as well as picking up a few hacks on saving money and making travel less stressful, these hacks I apply to our family adventures, even though they are vastly different experiences. While we all have the dream of picking a destination on a whim it is a little tricker (although not impossible) with kids bit if you don't do some preparation and research beforehand it could end up being costly. 1. Research your destination Yes this is an obvious one but you would be surprised how many people don't do the basic research of what there is to see and do as a family. Now we don't particularly go to "family" focused destinations as ev......

Encouraging your kids to love swimming

My eldest fell over in a shallow pool when he was about 2yrs old, I was right next to him at the time, he was splashing and laughing and then slipped, he was only under the water for a matter of seconds but that little incident scared him, after that he wasn't so keen to get back in the water. Since then our journey of getting him to love swimming has been a bit up and down but now with his 7th birthday fast approaching it's all changed, he much more confident and has mastered swimming under the water, jumping in and swimming unaided its made for a fun and splash filled summer. Learning from the things that have and have not worked with our eldest we have approached the topic of swimming in a different way with our youngest who at 2.5 and absolutely loves it and together we now have two boys who are equally enthused about the water as I am and it's becoming a family activity we can all do together. My mother and my eldest on holiday in the South of France  S......

Preparing the Home for Christmas

The novelty of log fires, the smell of a fresh fir tree, pine cones and a small glass of sherry or hot chocolate to warm you up on a cold wintery night while counting down the days to Christmas will never fade on me. Having spent my childhood in a hot southern hemisphere climate the idea of a traditional Christmas was never fully realised, well at least not in the way I imagined or had seen in the movies, dreaming of waking up to a white dusted landscape wearing thick pyjamas and running down the stairs to a tree surrounded by presents. Of course we celebrated Christmas and there was always an element of British flair in the home with my mother being a Welsh Expat but rather than it being in the depths of winter it was the height of summer and opening presents was swiftly followed by jumping in the pool to cool down. Having settled in Wales for nearly ten years now I get more excited with each year when it comes to the festive season and bringing Christmas into the......

Keeping your kids safe online this Winter with Kidslox

Even though my work revolves around me being online I have some serious anxiety when it comes to my children having access to the internet whether it be through educational apps or simply discovering things on YouTube I am not at ease with it all. We didn't have a tablet for years, in fact I think my eldest was about 5 when we first got one and while I can certainly see the educational benefits as well as being very handy on long trips or even when you just need half an hour to get something done in the house the length of time children can get sucked into tablets is scary as well as how open the internet can be, perhaps I am just a little controlling but it's my kids wellbeing I have at heart. Thats where Kidslox comes in, a parental control app which allows you to have control without hovering over your children and still allowing them a sense of space. I recently put the app to the test to see if it helped to put my mind at rest while they use our tablet and this is w......

Life lately.....

So with the summer holidays it has pretty much been go go go but we have had moment of enjoying the little things and trying to slow down. I love having flowers in the home and this bouquet filled with sunflowers has been my favourite so far. I also found these amazing brogues in an Oxfam shop in Cardiff - brand new by Hush Puppies! I have been spending rainy days with the little man in Ikea getting Scandi inspiration for the home as well as making masks - good times all round...

Happy Easter

Happy Easter everyone, hope you are all having a wonderful day, filled with laughter, smiles and treats. We started the day with two mini craft projects which distracted the little man long enough for the easter bunny to visit the garden and put out the eggs for the hunt. This was the first Easter we have had in our new house and the little man was really excited. Over the past few weeks it's almost as if he has gone from toddler to little boy, the way he runs, the funny sentences he comes out with and how he just "got" Easter this year. Our hunt included crafted eggs we painted, a few plastic eggs as well as painted boiled eggs which bulked up the hunt as oppose to just chocolate eggs, although he did get a large chocolate egg which he was blown away with. ...

Our summer festival wish list

I love nothing more than a good festival Wow where has this year gone? I cannot believe we are already into April and springtime, which only means one thing - camping and festival planning. We love nothing more than spending sometime under canvas as a family - the little man loves to camp, he has been asking all winter when we are going to go next and hopefully it won't be too long to wait. As long as you pick your festivals wisely taking children is not an issue at all and something we very much encourage. We have put together a few of our favourite family friendly festivals you should check out 1. Wychwood Festival 30th May - 1st June This festival is a great place to start the season and we thoroughly enjoyed it last year and are planning to go back for more this May. It's great for those with little experience of festivals as it's very civilised - with very clean toilets, warm showers, close parking, easy access, flat pitching for tents and an arra......
