London City Break with Kids - The Highlights

Every year we spend a few days in London as a family, it's my eldest's favourite city and we are lucky enough to live just over 2hrs away making weekend city breaks a great option when your looking for somewhere full of culture and heritage. Our first 2 nights we stayed in the amazing London Hilton on Park lane - do read my review about it as it's a perfect base for those travelling with kids to the capital. The great thing about London is that you really are spoilt for choice when it comes to family friendly activities and we often try and see and do something new every time we visit and this weekend was no exception. We didn't know what to expect however as we travelled to London only a few days after the devastating Westminster Bridge attacks but we found the city as safe and welcoming as always. Our first proper day in the city consisted of having the amazing opportunity to be one of the first people to watch the new Peppa Pig film Media Premier at Picture......

New Me, New Hair

Have you ever woken up and taken a long look in the mirror and feel like you don't know the person staring back at you? Well there was a moment the other day when shopping for my son that I spotted my reflection and I didn't like what I saw. Now don't get me wrong no one pressured me to lose the weight after having my second baby or to spring back into shape and I wouldn't go as far as saying I had let myself go but I certainly had allowed myself to be engulfed by sleep deprivation, a bad diet and not getting enough (or any) time for myself but enough was enough. After being inspired by fellow blogger Alison from Not another Mummy Blog who has talked a lot about getting out of the style rut, I wanted to follow suit, especially as many many years ago this blog was born out of my love of both clothing, art and interior design and it was time to start feeling like myself again and that meant addressing the thing bothering me the most, my hair.  Last we......

Style Me Sunday - Babysitters club

So this week has seen more changes for our little family, especially my eldest as we welcomed a brand new cousin/nephew into the world, making me an Aunt for the first time as well as Mr A a potential babysitter in years to come. Mr A has also been heavily into "workmen" style play this week, helping out at my mothers house hammering nails and filling up gaps in floorboards and he favourite item of clothing is week has got to be his Dungarees which were actually handed down from a friend who picked them up from Next, we have paired them up with this new Clarks boots and T-shirt from Esprit. The nice people over at Promofix Gifts sent us some very cute badges and mugs which would make a perfect gift for anyone who is currently expecting either their own child or in our case a little nephew or cousin and Mr A was very proud to wear his Babysitter to Bee pin badge. Their Mummy to bee mugs are super cute and if your looking for something heart warming and uniq......

Street Style Sunday - Playsuit

I came across this simple but stylish playsuit by accident a few weeks ago, I don't know how I stumbled onto Romwe, an American site but either way I love it. Being a huge fan of black I thought Navy was adding a bit more colour and pairing up with my patent brogues from Clarks, a small satchel bag from New Look and Rose Quartz Crystal Necklace from the Happiness Boutique . I have found since having kids and getting little older that I look for clothes that need to be wearable for the whole day as well as practical for running around after the children or doing errands and I think this playsuit is perfect for that. I was recently sent this beautiful necklace and I have yet to take it off. I have always been interested in Crystals and their ability to help ground you, aid calm and be used for different alignments to improve your wellbeing. The Rose quart is naturally speaks to your heart Chakra and is a very loving and happy stone and can help build str......

Street Style Sunday - Printed Dress

I bought this Mela Loves London dress at the start of my pregnancy and only got to wear it a few times before it no longer fit but with it being buttoned all the way down it actually means I can wear it while I am nursing Baby G so it was in fact a perfect maternity and post maternity buy. I am trying to wear more prints, espeically as we come into summer and I love this almost oriental bird and flower print. I have paired it up with a jacket from M&S my well worth patent Clarks brogues and a Ralph Lauren bag. I am still struggling a little bit with adjusting to "normal" clothes after the pregnancy but it only means I have to be slightly more creative with what I wear. I really hope you can come and join in with Street Style Sunday - anything fashion related goes including what has been inspiring you this week or what your little ones, family or partner has been wearing. An InLinkz Link-up ...

Street Style Sunday - New Hat

So this week is a little bit of a mens wear inspired post as we love to mix things up on the blog and John has a nice new winter hat that works so well with his Patagonia jacket it seemed like the perfect outfit post to share for this weeks Street Style Sunday. John has struggled to find a decent knitted hat this winter as a lot just don't seem to fit right, are to big or to long and he wanted something smaller and neater so when stylish folk at Fat Buddha Store , a menswear store based in Glasgow asked John to pick something it was a no brainer after seeing this cable knit Edwin Beanie. As some of you may already know Edwin are well know for there salvage denim jeans and neither of us had seen these hats before but they are perfect for keeping warm in winter. John wears Patagonia Jacket, Levis jumper, Universal Works Shirt, Edwin Jeans, Clarks Shoes, Edwin Beanie Hope you can come and join in with Street Style Sunday this week - you can link up with anything f......

Street Style Sunday - a Love of Clarks

What I wore to the Clarks Press Day...Clarks brogues of course I have to admit none of us have been 100% this week, we have managed until this point to ward off most colds but it seems like winter has finally caught up with us this week so we have been hibernating somewhat the past few days but that means I have finally had time to get around to blogging about the lovely Clarks Press Day I attended near the end of last year and showcased the summer styles coming 2015 and I totally feel in love with the silver Clarks Originals for kids (I really want a pair for myself!) Plus all the fun colours and patterns. We love Clarks in our household, I think it's because it's such a great British family brand and there is something for everyone. John has always been a keen collector of Clarks Originals and have a few mint pairs of Desert Boots that are more than 15 years old! I personally love their brogues, loafers and summer sandals plus the collaboration th......

Street Style Sunday - Fashion for All

We recently had a lovely day out in Caerleon (post to follow soon) and wow Winter has really set in and I am totally envious of Johns patagoinia jacket - the one downfall of of being pregnant is I can't really justify buying one of the jackets I have my eye on (Boden, Seasalt I am looking at you) until I am bump free. I like the use of colour and mixing and matching patterns in Johns outfit. John wears - Patagonia jacket, Ralph Lauren shirt, Edwin jeans The little man and I have also been up to various adventures of late and have enjoyed rocking some fun Chrsitmas jumpers. I have also been having fun with some new lip crayons and enjoying still being able to wear my favourite black stretch Max studio jeggings and clarks brogues. Clarks brogues and Max Studio leg gins, Pumpkin patch jacket, George jumpers and No7 Lip Crayon As always we are joining in with the super stylish and lovely Natalie from Style Me Sunday to bring you Street Style Sunday - come and j......

Wellies, Puddles and a Castle

We love spending time outdoors - fact! But when winter draws in it means the all weathers and waterproof jackets come out along with the wellies. The little man loves jumping in puddles (as do I) so when the lovely people over at Clarks asked us to put some to the test as part of the  #StyledByClarks campaign and of course we couldn't wait to get started. I recently attended the Clarks Press day in London and just have to say they have some of the best shoes for kids ever, so fun and innovative. Our local store in St Davids, Cardiff had a great selection and Mr A was instantly drawn to these pirate wellies which are super fun and cute and have a nice grippy sole which is perfect for climbing castle stairs, rocks and ruins, which Mr A is very much into at the moment. This week we picked up a great little book about Castles and Knights at our local charity shop and thought we would pop to Caerphilly Castle for some first hand learning. The li......

Boys Club - what they wore

So I thought it was a bit long overdue for a little outfit post from the two boys (well one man and one boy) and with Mr A turning 4 he has become a lot more picky about what he wants to wear - in fact he won't wear anything he doesn't pick out of his wardrobe himself - this usually involves camo shorts and a very well worn dinosaur t-shirt but this time he went for a real pop of colour and thought I had to capture that. Last week we were lucky enough to be invited to an event with Ralph Lauren in aid of their new literacy collection with the book trust charity and it was amazing - I will be sharing this wonderful day out with you very soon but while we were there Mr A had the chance to model these red trousers and they basically have not come off since then. Mr A wears Cos striped tee, RL trousers, Clark shoes John and mr A have also been spending as much time outside on John's days off and before winter sets in, exploring the local parks and teaching Mr A how......

Freeing our Feet in Abergavenny

What a glorious week it's been and the perfect time for a little day trip to Abergavenny, a lovely little market town in Monmouthshire, which we try to visit when we can but over the past few months have not found the time, so we thought what better than a Fathers Day adventure. So we packed up a picnic full of delights and headed over the heads of The Valleys to Abergavenny around an hour away. We parked near the Castle Meadows and walked down along the river before heading up towards to the castle ruins to have a picnic. Abergavenny Castle grounds are a great place to explore with lots of castle ruins as well as the Hunting Lodge Keep housing the small but perfectly formed Abergavenny Museum. Below the museum is a lovely willow sculpture garden which Mr A loved running around in his new Clarks sandals who are currently trying to encourage people to free their feet, something we love to do. I am also in love with my  Clarks originals sandals ......
