Glamping at YHA Manorbier, Pembrokeshire

This post is not in association with the YHA & we paid for our trip in full, although I have worked with the YHA in the past Hand's up who loves budget-friendly family travel (or solo travel) in amazing locations, I know I do and who doesn't love glamping! Not everyone knows that the YHA or Youth Hostels Association as it's otherwise known not only offers bunk & private room rooms but also camping and glamping options at some of their locations and I've been keen to try out their glamping options for a while, as the kids and I have stayed in a few different YHA's in the past but never their glamping. We love West Wales but hadn't yet visited Manorbier so when I spotted two nights available in the YHA Manorbier Camping Pods I thought why not. YHA Manorbier has 3 large camping pods which comfortably sleep 4 on two single beds and one double futon (with fresh bedding included) there is also space for a dog if you want to bring your four-legged friend along......

My top 10 travel posts of 2019

Well, 2019 was pretty action-packed with lots of adventures near and far. We always try and make the most of what is on our doorstep and hope to inspire other families to do the same, no matter what your budget (we are always on a tight budget). So I thought I would share 10 of my most popular travel posts of 2019 and hope that you one grabs your eye and inspires you to get out and explore. 1. A Winter weekend guide to Tenby Every year we do an annual overnight trip to Tenby in West Wales which is one of our favourite spots, especially during off-peak as it's lovely and quiet. The pastel-coloured houses that face the coastline, victorian houses and quaint coffee shops make this is a popular destination so if your ever thinking of heading down that way do check out my guide. 2.  Hotel Indigo Manchester, Review Last year I had a brilliant partnership with the fantastic Hotel Indigo and spent two days at their fantastic Manchester hotel taking in all that North......

YHA London Central - Family Travel Review

*We were provided with a family room for one night in exchange for an honest review. We covered the costs of our own travel & food (including breakfast). I think there is a misconception that a visit to London is going to cost loads of money, especially if you want to stay somewhere central but it really doesn't have to be the case. If you read my blog you will know that we love the YHA, not only does it provide well-located budget accommodation but as a charity and helps to transform young lives through travel and adventure and every stay helps the YHA carry out their fantastic work. I've found that many people seem unaware that they offer family accommodation and private family rooms which have everything you need. Earlier this year the boys and I stayed at YHA Ironbridge Coalport , set in beautiful Shropshire near the heritage-rich town of Ironbridge and it made for a perfect family weekend break. As we had done mainly rural breaks with YHA I was excited to see w......

Exploring Ironbridge with the YHA

This post is part of a campaign with YHA As you may already know I am passionate about sharing all the hidden gems and beautiful places the UK has on offer with my boys and we love a good weekend break to somewhere new that we have yet to explore. The thing is, like most families, we have a small budget so getting a good location with a family room and decent facilities that don't cost an arm and a leg can be hard. Saying that the YHA has a fantastic network right across the UK, including some really good glamping pods and bell tents for an extra special stay. As a family we have used YHA before, in fact I wrote about our night at  St Briavels Castle  last year (which cost us a total of £50 for the night!) and before having kids I spent time travelling across Europe working in Youth Hostels, a time filled with happy and positive travel experiences. The YHA is the perfect option for families who want good facilities and great locations but at a budget-friendly price, mak......
