Why France is the perfect Family Destination

The boys in Nice, France France has always been very special to me, especially after living and working in Nice for a couple of months before having children. As a family we love visiting France whether it be a chic city break in Paris or getting a sun tan on the French Riviera or a quick road trip to the Opal Coast - we have always had a fantastic time as a family and it's why I picked France as the country I wanted to celebrate my 30th birthday in a few years ago. I was pregnant at the time with my second and eldest who was four at the time was just coming into his own in terms of his passion for travel. We took the Eurostar from London to Pairs where we spent a few days exploring the array of family friendly museums and gardens before taking the fast TGV down to the South for a week of good food, relaxation, exploring small towns as well as taking in the culture of Nice and Cannes. You can read more about our stay in Valbonne and my 30th birthday celebrations ‘French style......

A family guide to the South of France

Enjoying ice-cream in Antibes  The French Riviera is one of those places that is just perfect for those looking to get away to warmer climates, take in the stylish and laid back Riveria culture, French food and of course stunning beaches. There is also a wonderful combination of countryside and city adventures from small hilltop villages to explore to the designer shops in Cannes, it has it all. It's also a place that makes for a fantastic family break and it's somewhere I keep going back too. I was lucky enough to live and work in Nice for a few months before having children and on my days off I often headed further afield to Antibes, Saint-Jean-Cap-Ferrat, St Paul De Vence and Eze Village so it made sense look at a holiday in France with the kids and share this breath-taking coastline with them. For my 30th birthday two years ago I decided that I wanted to spend this milestone birthday on the Riviera and we opted for a stay in a James  Villa in Valbonn......

A night in Cannes

If you read the blog you may already know that last year I turned 30 and we decided to go on a little road trip (well train trip) around France, taking in Paris and the South and enjoying a lovely week in the small hilly village of Valbonne in a beautiful James Villa property. We decided to spend our last full day in the South of France taking in the chic city of Cannes, world famous for the Film Festive and as we had an early train back up to Paris the following morning from Cannes train station so it only made sense to spend the night, which despite the extravagant location we managed to do on a very reasonable budget. The two boys taking in the Promenade de la Croisette After dropping off the Fiat 500 we hired for the week we booked into the small but stylish  Hotel Caroline which is perfectly located right in the centre on a lovely street filled with various bars, coffeeshops and restaurants and within easy walking distance of the beach. The room was nice ......

Our holiday on the French Riviera with James Villas

Before I had Mr A I spent a season working in Nice in the South of France and ever since then I have always wanted to return with the family in tow and show them what a beautiful part of the world it is, as well as explore more of the wonderful French Riviera, so what a better time than over my 30th birthday. We have all been feeling somewhat sun-starved of late and this week-long break in September to a warmer climate was just what we all needed, in fact I think it's been the longest Mr A has had spent in shorts and a t-shirt, which was really lovely to see. Since having Mr A our preferences when it comes to travelling have obviously changed and we much prefer to stay in self-catering accommodation these days as it's so much more accommodating when it comes to families so we were over the moon to be able to stay in such a beautiful Villa from James Villas  and with the easy driving distance to both Cannes and Nice as well as literally minutes away from the beautiful vill......

Street Style Sunday - The Holiday Edition

Wearing Boden Tunic, Holster jelly sandals, New Look Bag and Necklace So as some of you know we recently went on an amazing holiday down to the South of France and that meant only one thing - warmer weather and getting in a little bit of summer style before the end of the year. Being 18 weeks pregnant at the time of this photo, taken in Cannes, meant that I was in a bit of an in-between phase, not quite big enough for maternity clothes but yet all my normal clothes are somewhat on the tight side of things so this Boden tunic was perfect for me, very loose but with a belt it brought it in and gave enough space for the bump and paired up with my super comfy Holster jelly sandals as well as my Bag and Necklace which are both from New Look As always I have paired up with the lovely Natalie from Style Me Sunday blog to bring you Street Style Sunday linkup which is open to any fashion related posts - mood and inspiration boards, outfits of you, your kids or partner - in ......
