Bristol Fashion and what I wore

So we were very kindly invited to the live blogging event at Bristol Fashion week (although John couldn't make it), I was invited last year but couldn't attend at the last minute so it was really nice to finally make it and see what the new season trends are looking like. On arrive the Bristol Fashion Week tent was very imposing, I have been to London Fashion Week a few times and it reminded me of the main catwalk at Somerset house but of course on a smaller scale. Once inside the tent the staff were friendly and courteous and some bubbly and cupcakes where immediately on offer. All the seats had all the information about the different lines that would be walking the catwalk. The show started with a very impressive James Bond theme with some very talented dancers come models. It was hosted by celebrity stylist Mark Heyes and hairdresser to the stars Andrew Barton, whose covent garden salon I really want to visit the next time I am in the big smoke. You can really see h......

Bristol Fashion Week is coming

So I can't wait for the Live Blogging event this friday at Bristol Fashion Week! There is going to be so much to see and do including the catwalk show presented by fashion stylist Mark Heyes and celebrity hairstylist Andrew Barton, which will be showing all the essentials for the season ahead and with so many brands and designers being apart of BFW including Coast, Dune, French Connection, Cecil Gee, Jigsaw, Monsoon, John Lewis and Radley to name a few it's surely going to be a great event. Also I love Bristol, the street style in the city is always amazing and I am constantly inspired when I am there. Besides the catwalk show there is also the pamper zone (which I will be visiting for sure!), a relaxing place were you can have mini manicures, make-overs and indian head massages. You can follow all the action from the live blog event by going to Mall Cribbs  and signing up for a reminder or I will be tweeting all day @laurasidestreet ...

The Glam Show

So I was a very happy girl to get the chance to go to The Glam Show this year in London , at Earls Court . Two days of pampering and fashion, presented by style guru Nicky Hambleton-Jones, who happens to be on the verge of giving birth but still looks pretty good. So I just travelled up for Saturday but it was a pretty packed day from the get go. When you entered Earls court you really have no idea of what to expect as it's all contained on the 2nd floor so it's not until you take the escalator up that you see what awaits. There really was something for everyone from Tigi Hair products to Teeth Whitening, makeup master classes and pedicures, to champagne bars and boutique and vintage clothing. One of my fast becoming favourite designers REEM was there, she makes the most beautiful clothing and jewellery, another designer who caught my eye was a girl called Amira. One of the most exciting events of the day though was the Untold Fashion show - Untold is a collaboration......

Show-Studio

If your in London do go and check out the show-studio exhibition at Somerset house, it runs until the 20th December and is well worth checking out. Showstudio.com has been online for 9 years and is the brain child of fashion photographer Nick Knight. The exhibition is based on the themes of  Process', 'Performance' and 'Participation', and showcases over twenty projects from Show Studio's archive. As soon as you enter the exhibition to step into the mirror room...which you could literally spend hours in, mirror's on the ceiling, floor and all around you like a dome of observation. Leaving that you are confronted with huge over 10 feet tall Naomi sculptures with different images being projected on to her. You get a real sense of involvement in this exhibition, you can touch everything, pick it up, listen to audio and even call the good looking model sitting in the room. They have a cool collection of small class plates with lipstick kisses from famou......

What's happening.....Wales

Well with London Fashion week starting in just two days....so exciting, I will be attending the A La Mode catwalk show and some of the pop-up shops over the Friday and Saturday of LFW....of which I will be putting up lot's of posts.....so with all that excitement one can forget about other events that are happening right here in Wales. On the 2nd of October is the The Cardiff Design festival launch, the annual festival is a celebration of design and gives an opportunity for Welsh designers to showcase their talents in the fields of graphics, interior design, advertising and packaging to name a few. Events run through the duration of October and range from the Design Awards to showcases, talks and markets.   The Cribs - Photo taken by Me at SWN 2007 October is also when the SWN festival takes over Cardiff with some of the best music around It's over three days from the 22nd to the 24th of October. I went to this festival in 2007 and it was really good, loads of venues......

Bristol Fashion Week is coming

So I am really looking forward to Bristol's mini fashion week at the end of this month...it should be fun. It takes place at The Mall in Cribbs Causeway from the 30th Sept through to the 4th Oct. There will be a mix of catwalk shoes, style advice and beauty treats for the new season. The Catwalk is mainly going to be highstreet stuff - so collections from Reiss, Jigsaw, LK Benette, Hobbs and Coast to name a few. ...
