Like most people we love to indulge in our sweet tooth every now and then and who doesn't love a classic afternoon tea with homemade scones, dainty cakes and delightful creations? As we move into summer our thoughts also wander to those of another British classic that is sipping a G&T over a lazy lunch in the sun, so when Park Plaza invited us to try out their special Hendricks G&T afternoon tea it seemed like the perfect combination and we couldn't wait to see what it was all about. When we sat down our table had been laid out with Hendricks teacups and teapot filled with a cocktail of Hendricks Gin, Elderflower Liqueur, Maraschino Liqueur, lemon juice and soda and I have to say it was one of the most delicious cocktails we have had in a longtime, so refreshing! Next came the three-tier afternoon tea, starting off with finger sandwiches and freshly baked warm sultana scones. Then an assortment of cakes and pastries which were so beautiful I almost......

Cardiff Bloggers - Tea at Pettigrew
This enhanced cream tea was amazing At the end of October myself and two lovely local bloggers - Gemma from Fat Frocks and Chantelle from Two Hearts One Roof decided to organise a pre-christmas tea for Cardiff bloggers and it really was a wonderful day. The venue - Pettigrew Tea Rooms in Bute Park is a simply stunning location and provided us with the most amazing enhanced cream tea which consisted of the most exquisite handmade delicacies, I particularly enjoyed the fresh scones and mini eclairs. What was the main highlight though was meeting up with friends and new faces and basically having a chat over some loose leaf tea. The group was really diverse and it was wonderful sharing stories and putting faces to blogs. The lovely people at Argos also collaborated with the event and together we brought in toys to donate to Banardos which was wonderful as it's always great to get involved with a charity. After the cream tea some of us headed off ......

Long Weekend lovelies
We had a really goodtime this weekend, it's always lovely having a long weekend and quality time as a family. The sun was out on Saturday and Sunday and even though it was raining today it didn't dampen a wonderful weekend. We had a forest walk, explored a new park, baked Spelt Sultana scones, ate good food, climbed some trees, rode on a miniture railway and enjoyed a bbq in the sun with family and some lovely South African Cider. We had a lot of fun baking some healthy spelt sultana scones with the little man, we climbed trees and I enoyed eating some lovely fresh salad - the one above is roasted vegetables with low fat mozzarella. I have joined this post up with YoloMondays linky...

Next Home Blogger Event
So last week I was lucky enough to be invited to the Next Home-ware blogger event in Cardiff. It was a great day out with some inspiring interiors, stylish bloggers and high tea in a penthouse suite at St Davids hotel. The day started out with a tour of the Next store in Leckwith Cardiff, which is amazing by the way - it's so huge and has an amazing homes section. I loved all the room sets and there is a real nautical theme this season as well as a crafty, home-made element, especially with their cute cushion covers. They have some great accessories and they are all very reasonably priced, more than I expected. The furniture can be quite expensive but is solid, well made, has designer features and worth the little bit extra. After we had a good look around the store, picking up a few bits and bobs for the house (I love my new bicycle tea candle holder) we made our way to St Davids Hotel to watch the new Next home wear TV advert and have a spot of pampering with m......

Instagram weekend roundup
So still alittle upset at not being at London Fashion Week this week due to work/life commitments (first time in a few years that I am not there) I have resorted to quite a lot of baking this weekend, which has now lead me to needing to go on a healthy eating diet this monday! Anyway since John and I both had today free we thought we would make the most of it, since it was dry, although very cold and apparently it's going to be raining for most of the week, we though an ouside adventure of some sort was on the cards. So we decided to take a drive to Cyfarthfa Castle in Merthyr (birthplace of Julian McDonald and Laura Ashley) and anyone living in Wales/Cardiff should check this place out, as it really is a beautiful setting. The castle houses a very interesting and fun Museum and Art Gallery, as well as a victorian style tea room (welsh cakes and coffee for me). It's also set in a 160 acre parkland with a large lake full of ducks and a sensory garden and best of all it's all......
