One of the things that helps me through winter and spring is knowing that the festival season is on the way! Summer festivals is something that has been a part of my life since I was a teen and I love that it's also ingrained in my children's lives and has become something we all look forward to year on year. The music, food, camping, freedom and escape from reality for a few days, regardless of the weather, never fails to be a fun and wholesome experience. The great thing about festivals in the UK is the abundance of choice, each festival is slightly unique meaning that most music and food tastes can be catered for and you're sure to find a festival that piques your interest. Both of my kids have been going to festivals and camping overnight since they were 5 months old, so yes it's more doable and a lot of fun! Of course, some festivals are more suitable for younger children than others so here is a list of some of the best family-friendly festivals taking place thi......

6 Awesome UK family friendly Festivals 2022
I don't know about you but I am excited about the prospect of festival season finally being back after a very bumpy two years which saw many festivals and events being cancelled (which was the right reason at the time). While of course the virus has not gone away it does to an extent appear to be more manageable and therefore summer festivals have finally got the green light to go ahead again. I've taken my kids to festivals ever since they were babies, in fact my youngest went to Just So Festival at the tender age of 5months. It's something we love to do as it offers a break away from normality and a chance to indulge the senses in music, art, creativity and street food, along with camping and a sense of getting back to nature while also connecting with others. Of course there are some festivals which are simply not tailored for the younger audience and others which main focus is children - I like to find a good balance between the two, a festival that offers something f......

Packing for a Festival - Guest Post
We will be heading off to the Just So Festival later this month and cannot wait as summer to us really is not summer without going to a festival or two. Mr A is now an old hand at camping and festivals but it will be baby A's first one and at 6 months means we will be packing a few extras this year which will be interesting. So when the lovely Fiona, a travel writer for Hipmunk got in touch to do a guest post all about festival packing I thought it would be great to share. We really enjoyed Beyond the Border festival last year Chronic over-packers and space savers often run into trouble when packing for a music festival. Unpredictable weather, the need for basic creature comforts and the overwhelming desire to show off your carefully curated festival wardrobe may tempt you to pack everything under the sun. Pay attention to the following tips to pare down your packing to a carry-on size bag without leaving your signature Pharaoh headdress at home. It’s Not Much,......
I can be easy to understand why some people get a bit jealous of child- free friends in the summer months. Of course it's always great to see everyone having fun in the sun, but as dedicated record fanatics it can be difficult to see all the amazing Instagrams snaps from some of the best (slightly less baby friendly) music festivals in the world—Wireless, Glastonbury (have been & I know they encourage families but we will be going when the boys are a bit older) etc to name a few. Mr A having fun at The Beyond the Border festival last year We are not complaining though as there are now tons of fantastic festivals aimed at not only teens and youthful festival goers but also families with small children and we are actually planning on going to Camp Bestival and Just So Festival this year and we also recently came across an amazing family friendly foodie one that is the Big Feastival up in Oxfordshire. The festival is curated and organised by Blur bassist ......
