Top tips for going to Cheltenham Festival in Style

Although I’ve definitely had a fun festive period, I really love springtime because it’s the time when we can finally shake off the winter blues and enjoy the great outdoors. And I’ve been investigating a few options for getting out and about, and the upcoming Cheltenham Festival seems to offer a good combination of cocktails, horse racing excitement, sports fun, and of course, lots of fashion opportunities. But as ever, my main question is - what to wear? Races conundrum The hardest thing about putting together a look for the races seems to be how to look stylish without necessarily breaking the strict dress codes that are often enforced. Thankfully the Cheltenham Festival looks like it doesn’t suffer the restrictive dress code found at Royal Ascot, but it still requires a little bit of forward planning. Thankfully, the racecourse’s website gave a good idea of what was acceptable depending upon what kind of ticket you’d purchased. And similarly, I found that Betway’s site ......

Street Style Sunday - New Hat

So this week is a little bit of a mens wear inspired post as we love to mix things up on the blog and John has a nice new winter hat that works so well with his Patagonia jacket it seemed like the perfect outfit post to share for this weeks Street Style Sunday. John has struggled to find a decent knitted hat this winter as a lot just don't seem to fit right, are to big or to long and he wanted something smaller and neater so when stylish folk at Fat Buddha Store , a menswear store based in Glasgow asked John to pick something it was a no brainer after seeing this cable knit Edwin Beanie. As some of you may already know Edwin are well know for there salvage denim jeans and neither of us had seen these hats before but they are perfect for keeping warm in winter. John wears Patagonia Jacket, Levis jumper, Universal Works Shirt, Edwin Jeans, Clarks Shoes, Edwin Beanie Hope you can come and join in with Street Style Sunday this week - you can link up with anything f......

Street Style Sunday - Christmas Jumper Love

So being 30 weeks pregnant I am all about big comfy and cosy jumpers at the moment and what good timing with it being Christmas and all, so why not have a little fun and get festive with a few novelty jumpers. The lovely people at Bonmarche asked me to choose my favourite two and I opted for this bright and cherry Robin red breast and super soft Owl jumper which is festive but not so much I can't wait it later in the winter season. Jumpers from Bonmarch - Scarfs from Nice Market France, Denim jacket Topshop I am all about chunky knits and scarfs during winter and I am on the look out for a cute fair-isle knitted hat, hopefully there will be something in the January sales. What have you been wearing this past wintery week in the run up to Christmas? Come and show it off and join in with Street Style Sunday linkup An InLinkz Link-up ...

Street Style Sunday - A Wedding Outfit

Vintage Jacket, New Look tee, Max Studio trouser, Esska Shoes, Ralph Lauren Bag, Boden Necklace So last weekend we attended a wedding, in fact Johns brothers wedding. As you can see my bump has grown somewhat and I struggled to find anything dress wise that didn't make me feel frumpy so I decide to wear what I felt comfortable in but was still fairly chic. I picked up this black Velvet jacket in a charity shop years ago and I love it and paired it up with my Max Studio black trousers and New Look maternity tee, as well as my gold Esska shoes and Ralph Lauren bag and beautiful Boden necklace. The weather was perfect, especially since Wales can be so hit and miss which meant I even had to pack my sunglasses! I went for fairly simple makeup using some new No.7 products which I cannot wait to share with you - in love with their Lip Crayon and overall had a really enjoyable day. The little man was a page boy and I cannot wait share what he wore later this week in the ......

Street Style Sunday - Step into the Story

Mr A rocking his new RL jumper So two weeks ago we went on the little man and I went on a mini adventure to Oxford and paired it up with the Bicester Village Step into the Story Christmas Event. We got stuck in traffic on the way to Bicester Village and arrived a little late, we had been told the event was running from 5-8pm but unfortunately the main part of it was over by the time we got there just before 6pm but that didn't stop us having a lovely time. Luckily there were still a few festive bites to eat, mini donuts and a little bar that made me an alcohol free Pink Lemonade. We roamed around the chic shopping village and Mr A picked this lovely little blue and green jumper for the Ralph Lauren Kids store and enjoyed all the christmas themed decorations around the centre, such as the Reindeers and bears as well as a Photo Booth stand were he dressed up as Robin Hood. We had a wonderful supper at the Villandry a before heading back into Oxford and it was a bit of ea......

Boys Club and British Humour

So another lovely Boys Club post for you, Johns space to share his likes, what he is wearing and this week reading. So it's been a week of warm weather and eating outdoors - our two favourite combinations! We recently did a post about Summer Cocktails and here is what John was wearing to our little family BBQ. He went with a short sleeve shirt by Woolrich Woolen Mills and a Norse Project Hat with HM shorts and Superga shoes - a perfect combination for summer, spending time in the garden and is practical but also preppy. John wears - Woolrich Woolen Mills shirt, Norse Project Hat, HM shorts and Superga shoes The two boys wearing hats in the hot weather John was also asked by Presents for Men to review an amusing and witty coffee table book perfect for the inspiring country gentleman - Tails of Tottering Hall, a very entertaining book capturing British humour to a tee and with both of us being dog lovers this is a great accompaniment to our large book collection......

Boys in straw hats

Just a quick little post, had to share this cute little straw hat we pick up for Mr A at Sainsburys. It's really hard getting hats for him as he has to pick them and be happy otherwise he won't wear it and as soon as he saw this he wanted it and I love straw hats on little ones. ...

Hat Envy

I am in love with this hat...it needs to happen. I have always been a fan of studs and embellishments and this just takes it too the next level, it's very brash and bold but it has that sort of "it's so wrong but yet so right quality about it". Best of all it's in my price range - only £19.99, saw in company magazine and loving it. Jackee mix stud gold flap cap from missguided ...

Guess my Inventory

So thinking about the Vogue September issue Laura mentioned I thought I would mention one of my favourite Male Sartorialist style magazines - Inventory magazine - a curation of ideas in product, craft and culture. They have great interviews and editorial pieces. I came across their winter holiday gift list and if you ever stuck with ideas for your man for Christmas, believe me, I would take anyone of these prepped up gifts!
