3 Stylish Destinations in the UK
Mollie's Motels , a small chain of motels, currently in Bristol and Oxford with a soon-to-open Manchester location, combines the feel of a classic Americana roadside motel & drive-in diner with the style of Soho house, while being both budget and family-friendly making them a unique staycation destination. Mollies had been on my UK staycation bucket list so when we had the opportunity to stay at the Oxfordshire Mollie's Motel , we jumped at the chance, especially with being only a 25-minute drive to the centre of Oxford and a great base for exploring the area. As they are based outside of the city centre, travelling by car is the ideal option although the Oxford location is easily accessible by public transport with a bus station right next to the hotel that will take you directly into the city. We spent a day taking in all the sights of Oxford and the following day exploring some of the quaint Cotswolds villages. As soon as you arrive it's hard to not be taken in by ......

A weekend travel guide to Fowey, Cornwall
* This post contains affiliate links I feel very lucky that I had the chance to spend time living in Falmouth, Cornwall before having children and whenever I get the chance to visit and explore more of the area, I do. I've travelled across most of the Cornish peninsular, from the small harbour villages and coastal towns to the sleepy countryside hideaways and bustling city of Truro, there is always something to discover and so many reasons to put Cornwall on your UK bucket list. So why Fowey ? This quaint harbourside village in Southern Cornwall which is set in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty is not only an architectural delight but is packed with history, cafes and small independent shops, with castles on its doorstep to explore, as well as white sanded beaches, coves and views across the River Fowey, to name a few. It's also popular with the literacy set as it was also home to famed author Daphne du Maurier, with many of her books being set in Cornwall as well as Kenne......

How to spend 24hrs in Nottingham
Over the past few years, my children and I have developed a love for tabletop role-playing games, model-building and boardgames. Initially, it started with a few Pokemon cards and Airfix models and has since developed into my kitchen table being taken over with Warhammer miniatures, Citadel paints and Codex books (play manuals). Like all parents, I try to support my children's interests and hobbies as much as possible, which recently lead us to Nottingham, not only the home of Robin Hood but also Warhammer World. That's the thing with these types of games, one leads to another and as we started learning more about the RPG community in the UK and quickly we put a visit to Warhammer World in Nottingham on our bucket list and decided to head up there for my son's birthday, in what felt like our first RPG pilgrimage. Of course, like all our travels, we wanted to get the most out of our time in Nottingham and see as much of the city as possible, so here is what we got up to in o......

Stonehenge Stone Circle Experience
Did you know you can actually go right into the circle of Stonehenge? No many people know that The English Heritage now offer special Stone Circle Experience tours , which run either before or after normal opening hours, which allow you to step over the barriers and get right up close to the stones. My boys and I love visiting historical places and are slowly ticking off neolithic and megalithic sites across the UK and have been wanting to visit Stonehenge for a long time but with it being over 2hrs drive and normal admission does not allow you to walk up close to the stones, the nearest you can get is around 10 yards with the monument being roped off, it just made sense to pay extra for what was an incredible experience we will never forget. To give you an idea of the difference in price, normal admission is £21.50 for an adult and the VIP Stone Circle tour is £47 for one full hour among the stones with a guide on hand to answer any questions. Yes it is a lot of money, especially......
Relaxing in Durham *This post contains affiliate links Staycations have seen a massive rise since the start of the Pandemic, with more people realising there are some fantastic places to explore right on our doorstep. This little island offers so much variety from city breaks to adventure-seeking outdoor activities, relaxing hikes in the countryside or taking in the art and culture of many museums and historical sites across the UK. While everyone has been heading off to Cornwall and West Wales, I thought I would offer a few alternatives for UK Travel so that you can still soak up the atmosphere without the manic crowds. Despite some of the more popular areas having sold out their accommodation, there is still plenty of deals to be had and a great site to find a hotel is ebooking.com 1. Cardiff The Welsh Capital is often overlooked for places like the Brecon Beacons or the beaches of West Wales and while it's not the biggest Capital city it is a vibrant one with plenty to see and......
