One of my favourite things about summer is being able to eat outside, it really make my soul sing wether it be fresh mornings with a croissant and a cup of coffee, a midday picnic or evening sundowners on a warm evening. It's a summer tradition that is also a favourite of my son, in fact we have already had a fair few picnics in the garden and if it was up to him we would eat outside everyday. As you may already know I have collaborated with HomeSense in the past and being a hunter for a good deal and my passion for interiors I am naturally a fan of HomeSense which offers up to 60% off the normal retail price and they have some amazing pieces in at the moment to enhance your garden, summer al fresco gatherings and picnics. Here are three very simple tips for eating Al fresco 1. Keep the food simple, fresh and enjoy a more tapas style affair such a hummus and veg sticks, cut up fruit, lightly dressed salads, pitta breads, bring colour to the plate and food you can s......

Interior inspiration Day with HomeSense
Me enjoying a picnic at HomeSense Last week was very exciting indeed as I was invited to take part in an Inspiration day at the Cardiff HomeSense . A lovely table with all sorts of yummy goodies including cupcakes and bubbly was set up and I was ready to help any readers and shoppers with any interior challenges they had. Before I settled down to have a chat with shoppers I spent the first hour walking around the store and picking out 10 must have items for the next season and with so many wonderful products I was really spoilt for choice. Here are my 10 blogger picks 1. I came across these beautiful ceramic bowls with a retro design and they would bring a lovely fresh look to any kitchen cupboard. 2. Rules are meant to be broken and you really don't need to have “sets” of things, so why not go for an eclectic mix of coffee mugs for a little quirky style 3. Following on from the retro look is this wonderful vintage inspired childs ride on sc......
After doing a social media shout out to my followers and having a great response, I was really excited to be working with young couple Rhian and Gareth, who have only recently moved into their first home and need some help in turning their uninspiring bedroom into a place that showcases their personalities and brings a little bit more style and colour into their home. They are planning their wedding later this year and have no budget to do anything with their bedroom which made the makeover that little bit more special. I discussed with them what they wanted to achieve and we put together and inspiration board of ideas. We also discussed simple storage ideas as there was a little bit of an issue with clutter. “By simply organising books and beauty products into stylish storage cases it really makes the room feel more streamline and spacious.” Bedroom before the makeover We were really excited to see what we would find at HomeSense and went in with an open mind a......

Inspiring interiors
So for those who read the blog often will know that we are in between houses and actively on the lookout for our new home. We have seen a few, some have been great, others not so much, so are where falling down around us or just over our budget, others our heart have fallen for and then just missed out at the last minute. If anyone has gone through the buying and selling process you will know it's a very stressful one, but also a positive experience, as you cannot help but indulge in some interior design. I start dressing houses up in my mind, what would the perfect kitchen look like, how would my (in my dreams) Smeg fridge go or how would I make my bedroom unique. I believe in less is more and quality over quantity and would love a mix of homemade, locally made, fair-trade and designer pieces to full my space. Interesting and eye catching whilst also remaining practical, I like nothing more than products that are well designed and fulfil their purpose whilst also being......

Getting Eco and chic at HomeSense
Recently I was invited to have a little look around my local Homesense in Cardiff, I knew it was owned by TK Maxx and stocks some amazing interior goodies but until now had not had the time to pop in but one thing is for sure is that I will be back again very soon. I really didn't know what to expect in terms of shop layout, stock etc but the store is really clean and fresh with a clear layout, making it very easy to find what you need. I loved all the individual and unique items they had and I truly believe in a store like this you could pick up something you would be hard to find anywhere else. I love these retro chairs Another thing I was pleasantly surprised at was not only the designer pieces such as Dior and Ralph Lauren but also a lot of ethical and eco products, which is what I love in my home and stocked up on during this trip as Green products can be quite expensive but with up to 60% less than normal retail prices I made the most of it. How amazi......
