I am pretty easy going when it comes to where, how and who we travel with whether it be inter-railing across Europe, enjoying a chic city break or getting muddy in the countryside, from family friendly glamping to high end hotels as long as you do your research nothing should have to be off limits. John however prefers the comforts of a good hotel with excellent amenities and I really like being able to cook my own meals which is why I often lean towards self catering so we tend do a mixture of both. If you are one who likes the finer things in life you really don't have to worry or feel that because you have children your travel preferences have to change, of course, you may now be more open-minded in your approach but a luxury holiday shouldn't be off the cards especially as travel is such a great opportunity for kids to learn about different countries and cultures. There are also plenty of luxury glamping options such as a private luxury lodge that give the feeling......

London City Break with Kids - The Highlights
Every year we spend a few days in London as a family, it's my eldest's favourite city and we are lucky enough to live just over 2hrs away making weekend city breaks a great option when your looking for somewhere full of culture and heritage. Our first 2 nights we stayed in the amazing London Hilton on Park lane - do read my review about it as it's a perfect base for those travelling with kids to the capital. The great thing about London is that you really are spoilt for choice when it comes to family friendly activities and we often try and see and do something new every time we visit and this weekend was no exception. We didn't know what to expect however as we travelled to London only a few days after the devastating Westminster Bridge attacks but we found the city as safe and welcoming as always. Our first proper day in the city consisted of having the amazing opportunity to be one of the first people to watch the new Peppa Pig film Media Premier at Picture......
Relaxing at Park Plaza in Cardiff We have been lucky enough to stay at a fair few hotels across the UK over the past few years, some have been in historical listed buildings with small narrow hallways and no elevator which is fine when you don't have any mobility issues or small children dependent on a pushchair (we avoided the later by using a sling with both our kids). Other times we have been in very modern, bright and spacious buildings as well as rustic farms and converted barns, all with their own sets of pros and cons. As soon as you start to look around and through the eyes of those guest who may have additional needs you can quickly see how many places are simply not geared up to accommodating them. Saying that there are some fantastic hotels that do go the extra mile from independent, boutique and chain hotels, some put accessibility high on the level of importance and inclusion of all is key. I have always been very active and out-going and like most ha......
Around this time last year we were coming back from a week long trip to Amsterdam, we had spent a few days in London before taking the train down to the coast and the overnight ferry to the Hoek of Holland, then a high speed train into the city as part of the Rail sail ticket Stena Lines offers. That trip was not our first family break to the Dutch Capital, in fact the year before we flew from our local airport with KLM , a very quick and easy trip from Cardiff, in fact KLM flies from most UK airports making Holland a very accessible destination. For some people Amsterdam may not be their first choice when thinking of a family friendly European destination but it truly is a wonderful city that you will fall in love with as soon as you arrive. The locals are very friendly and welcoming of families and there is a fantastic array of things to see and do. If you are only going to be in the city for up to 72hrs I would recommend getting the iAmsterdam Card which inclu......

Rediscovering Hilton and giveaway
Last Monday John and I finally had our first night away from little Mr A as we ventured across the boarder into England and the beautiful city of Bath. We had been kindly asked if we would review the Hilton in Bath and were very excited by the prospect as it's a city we love but don't get much time to visit. After leaving Mr A with lots of toys and big smiles at the prospect of staying with the grandparents we made our way over the Severn Bridge. After parking the car just under the hotel (very convenient), we checked in, I have to say the during our stay the staff were very friendly, professional and informative. Our room was on the 4th floor and had a great view of the city and canal below. What we loved most was the little touches, there was a big chocolate chip cookie with strawberries and olives waiting for us, as well as a thank-you note and bottles of still and sparkling water. Our room was spotless and well designed with everything you need, we loved the chic......
