A Sad day for fashion

20/11/2009

So yesterday I was very very sad to read that Daul Kim, a top Korean Fashion model had passed away, at the tender age of 20. She was found dead in her Paris apartment, the police are investigating into her death and although nothing has been released, media are sighting it as suicide. Despite being a fashion fixture on the catwalks of Paris, New York, Milan and London, Daul was also an accomplished Artist and film-maker. Her individual style and beauty will surely be missed by the fashion world.

In other, rather sad news, if you haven't already heard the future is looking bleak for British Fashion designer Luella Bartley of Luella, as she has lost her main financial backer, Club 21 and has had to cease trade until another backer is found. Luella in few words - is an amazing designers and has created some wonderful collections. Luella was named fashion designer of the year in 2008 and her ready-to-wear 2010 line has received rave reviews and  previewed at this years London Fashion Week and gained critical acclaim, so this has come as a shock to everyone. Her clothing has been labled as "english eccentric" in style and has been worn by celebrities such as Gwyneth Paltrow, Sienna Miller, Alexa Chung and Lily Allen and you can currently buy her products from Luella and Urban Outfitters (and of course loads of shops around the UK), but without new backing it is unlikely it will say in shops for long. So what can be done?? Why not join the facebook Save Luella movement
