Style - When Beige is not boring

Street Style

I have been having a huge clear out of my wardrobe and minimising what I have down to key pieces that work with a variety of outfits. I have always been about more is less and investing in pieces that are well made and are going to last season after season. I am so glad I decided to go for this camel Jaeger jacket which has served me really well this winter and supporting British brands is always a good thing in my books. I was a little nervous going for camel or as some people may call beige as it can be seen as a rather boring shade but I love the stylish cut of this jacket and that is can be dressed up or down.

gold shoes

Last week I picked up these Polka Dot trousers from The White Stuff in Cardiff and I have worn the polka dot print before with shirts and t-shirt but never with trousers and was worried it may not work but pairing it up with my favourite white shirt from The White Company and a little gold from my Esska shoes (another great home grown shoe company) works really well.

If you are a regular reader of my blog you will know John also has a passion for clothes and is actually far pickier than I am. He really likes heritage brands and was recently asked to pick something from the Online men's retailer Jacamo, initially he thought there might not be anything to his taste but was really pleasantly surprised with some of the brands they stock such as Clarks Originals,  New Balance and Vans and they also stock lager sizes and wide fitting shoes

He ended up going for a pair of the iconic Clarks Originals Wallabees in Maple which is the perfect summer shoe. The Wallabee has been produce since 1967 and it's Moccasin construction and trademark crepe sole has meant this simple and uncluttered shoe has stood the test of time and just like a pair of jeans is as relevant as ever. He has paired them up with a pair of Edwin jeans and Manastash jacket for a easy weekend look.

Mens style

I do think that pairing up camel, maple, beige or whatever you want to call it with an outfit can work really well and add to the overall look and it's not something that needs to be seen as boring but rather chic and effortless as long as it's done the right way.
