Fathers Day Gifts for heart & home

04/06/2015

How cute is this French bulldog card from Etsy

So fathers day will soon be upon us and it's one of those wonderful days of there year we get to celebrate our partners, husbands, Dads or in fact any man in our life who has a positive impact. I always like to find something a bit different and fun, something that will bring a smile to my OH face and thought I would put a little gift guide together from the small little touches to the bigger gestures, lets treat the men in our lives.

1. John is not a jewellery kind of guy but I have to say I do love these Anchor and Crew necklaces from JewelStreet and they make some amazing unisex and ladies pieces as well (so you could always nab it for a bit).

2. We both love travel as does Mr A so this custom compass is something that could also be passed down from father to son.

3. Johns favourite city and many others is New York so when I came across this book on Find a Present about the faces, humans and street style in New York city I thought it would make a great gift.

4, Men also need some pampering and skin and hair maintenance so this Beard Oil and Moustache wax from Qwerkity is perfect. The oil is a mix of argan, almond and coconut oils and at £9.99 it's a great budget friendly gift

If your looking for something a bit bigger and for the home but is also suitable for Fathers Day than this Mad men style vintage Eames Ottoman lounge chair from Vintage Supply LA would be perfect, I know John has had his eye on one for ages and if we had enough space in our house I am sure we would have one by now. If not you could go for a smaller Vitra Eamas rocking chair from John Lewis

If you want a gift that keeps on giving but is purely for the man in your life than we have recently discovered The Personal Barber subscription box which sends out all you need for your man to get the closest shave possible and each month the box contains different things from soaps to shaving cream and skincare.

  10. Some lovely ideas. I bought my dad a similar engraved compass for his 60th birthday and he absolutely loved it, as it was such a different gift, and perfect for him as he loves hiking and walking. He had a little tear in his eye and said it was a real gift to treasure.

I'm obsessed with Mad Men set design. I've just started trying to emulate the style of one of Kymm Swank who painted the pic in Don and Megan's NY condo. Ok i am blathering. Loved the post! X
