Afternoon Tea with a G&T twist

Afternoon Tea Park Plaza

Like most people we love to indulge in our sweet tooth every now and then and who doesn't love a classic afternoon tea with homemade scones, dainty cakes and delightful creations? As we move into summer our thoughts also wander to those of another British classic that is sipping a G&T over a lazy lunch in the sun, so when Park Plaza invited us to try out their special Hendricks G&T afternoon tea it seemed like the perfect combination and we couldn't wait to see what it was all about.

Hendricks Afternoon Tea

When we sat down our table had been laid out with Hendricks teacups and teapot filled with a cocktail of Hendricks Gin, Elderflower Liqueur, Maraschino Liqueur, lemon juice and soda and I have to say it was one of the most delicious cocktails we have had in a longtime, so refreshing! Next came the three-tier afternoon tea, starting off with finger sandwiches and freshly baked warm sultana scones. Then an assortment of cakes and pastries which were so beautiful I almost didn't want to eat them but I am so glad I did, miniature plates of heaven, with my favourite being the chocolate Opera Gateau topped with a french Macaroon followed closely by the Lime jelly topped with mint and cucumber Chantilly cream.

What I really liked about this Afternoon Tea is that appeals to both men and women and makes the perfect lunch date or even as a surprise for your other half this Fathers Day. The staff were once again very knowledgable and even rustled up John a Gluten-free option without any prior notice. As I mentioned in our previous review of Park Plaza and Laguna Bar that their food is excellent and I think £21.95 for this afternoon tea is well worth it, especially for a special occasion.
