Bathroom dreams, treats and dry skin beats

14/01/2015

So our bath has sprung a bit of a leak...well it's a little bit more complicated than that but after having the floor recently re-tiled and the walls painted with thought besides replacing the glass screen on the bath and a few other little things that the Bathroom was fairly straight forward with regards to getting ready to put the house on the market - alas that is not the case and instead we have to replace the whole bath, the shower unit above the bath and the wall tiling around the bath...all before the baby pops out next month. In the perfect world we would replace it for a beautiful roll top bath but when renovating a property the first thing you need to do is separate your wants and desires to what is the most practical, finically beneficial and what suits the property the best. Of course having a roll top bath would bring the wow factor but as we are marketing it towards families and want to keep the costs down the best options is something simple and less lavish...although one can always dream!

Over the Christmas period we also treated each other to a few little things for the bathroom, John got me some wonderful Neal Yards lavender bath oil to help me relax and ease my aching back, an issue I never really experienced with my first pregnancy. I also picked up some Mr Natty products for John and his beard.

Also I am not sure about you but winter is the worst for affecting the skin and I know that John and the little man have been struggling more than ever with dry skin. John gets it worst on the face but has found that Weleda skin food has been working well to keep flare ups at bay. With the little man we were lucky enough to be sent some great products from Salcura Natural Skin Therapy who make Bioskin Junior which really does help smooth and cleanse any dry skin patches and is also perfect for those little ones with Eczema. They have a wonderful range and Mr A loved the bath milk which left his skin feeling really soft and is 98% from Natural origins with it's active ingredient being the soothing Chamomile plant and with no steroids, parabens or artificial fragrances I felt really reassured it was not going to irritate his skin anymore.
