Exploring Cowbridge

winter sun

So after a few miserable and rainy days it was so refreshing to see the sunshine, even though the temperature has really dropped we took the first opportunity to spend it outside having fun and thought what better than a little road trip to the beautiful historic market town of Cowbridge in the Vale of Glamorgan.

It has a lovely Physic Garden and outdoor spaces to explore as well as one of my favourite vintage indoor markets called Happy Days, where we stopped of for lunch in their quaint little cafe - I highly recommend the homemade vegetable soup by the way.

The little man has also recently discovered things like The Scouts and Bear Grylls and as much as I have a total dislike to guns (I really distain them) he enjoyed pretending being an outdoor ranger with his little rifle, protecting all the plants and animals.

Cowbridge has some beautiful shops, interior stores and florists and I always feel really inspired after a day out at this chic little village. It was one of those days filled with simple pleasures and it was lovely to just run around in the winter sun, just the three of us.

  1. I love Cowbridge and all it's little shops, such a relaxed atmosphere even on busy days and so grateful that we have it close by :)

    1. I totally agree Amy - such a lovely part of South Wales - one of my favourite little villages

  2. It looks lovely, I really want to do some exploring in Wales. I've really been struggling to get outdoors in this cold weather, I hate it!! x

  3. Love those teasels, my Dad likes to put them in a vase on top of the piano, they always make me feel at home :) Gorgeous pic of your son exploring them. Take the gun away and he will find a stick, tell he can't have a gun and he will want one more, or so it seems to be here with my 6yo.

  4. I'd never heard of Cowbridge, it looks amazing!

  5. I've never heard of Cowbridge either but it looks really cute, I really want to explore our country more this year x

  6. What a quaint looking place to explore. Those post Christmas sunshine days were glorious, glad you found a chance to get out and enjoy it. Your little park ranger is adorable!

  7. Exploring local villages is one of our favourite ways to spend a day - Cowbridge looks right up my street! (Also completely with you on guns - Ben was never interested, but since starting school he seems to have picked up on them more, sigh.)
