Exciting times - we're Pregnant

outdoor family
Us looking a little windswept on our little outdoor ramble this weekend
So we have some really exciting news - we are expecting our second child who will be due early next year. After a somewhat up and down year with my unsuccessful minor heart procedure this year this is something truly wonderful and positive and even though it may not be an easy pregnancy at times (although fingers crossed it will be) we couldn't be happier.

For the first couple of weeks I felt really fowl, very tired and very nauseous, luckily this phase has seemed to passed over, the only different between this pregnancy and the first one is that I have felt incredibly hungry since the start which is something I didn't have the first time around. In fact I lost weight in the first 4 months of having Mr A as I couldn't stomach eating anything, this time it's gone haywire and all I have wanted is things I would never have such as processed food and salty food which I have been trying to channel in a more healthy way such as avocado dipped in soy sauce or a salad with Halloumi cheese, unfortunately this has only helped a little bit as I have put weight on much quicker this time around. Oh well I think you need to listen to your body.

Up to this point all I have been doing is trying to drink lots of water and remembering to take my pregnacare as this has gentle levels of iron to hopefully keep up my energy levels, I remembered they helped a little bit last time. Can't wait to keep everyone updated with our journey into the unknown of going from one child to two.

  5. Congratulations again! I think it's quite common to put on weight more quickly the second time around. I love the options you've chosen to feed your salty tooth. I need to get some halloumi! Looking forward to following your pregnancy. x
