Old El Paso Quesadilla review

Quesadillas

I have to admit we buy pretty much everything fresh and make most of our suppers from scratch, it's something we have always done but every now and then we like to rustle up something a bit different that is quick and easy (so even John could make it) so when Old El Paso sent us a few bits and bobs we couldn't wait to have go. Of course we make things like veggie wraps and what not during the week as it's a lovely way to use up vegetable and is fairly healthy and frugal but we usually would just use some spices or herbs to season so I was intrigued to see what the little man thought of the cheese spicy Quesadillas. I knew straight away John would love them as he is a huge fan of Mexican food and as it was the end of the weekend this felt even more like a family treat.

Quesadillas

So the packs give you pretty much the base and you can add to that what you like. Mr A and I simply went for sliced mushrooms, the tomato salsa and some light cheese, while John opted for  Chicken and red peppers in his Quesadilla. We are also trying to cut down on Gluten in the house and it was great to see the Corn Tortillas are pretty much Gluten-free and very tasty (I love anything made from corn).

Mr Men

Mr A gobbled his up and the extra spice seem to go down well and it's a another great way to sneak in your five a day with a toddler as I managed to cram quite a few mushrooms plus the tomato into it, I wonder what else I could disguise in them for the little man, who is quite a fussy eater.

Old El Paso

John really loved his and there is something very enjoyable about using your hands and made our sunday night meal far less formal and more family fun which was lovely. It was also very easy to make a meat and veggie version without any extra hassle so I think overall these may stay on our weekly shop for a while as it was something the whole family could get stuck into on a lazy sunday evening. Overall thumbs up.

We were kindly sent some Old El Paso products to try out these recipes - words and thoughts are 100% our own.
