Dreamy Bedroom

18/04/2013

So we are hoping to move in a couple of months, once we have found the right place to move to that is, but my mind is already very much in dream mode, colour schemes and what our new home may look like. One thing for sure is that we are going to get a new bed - the time has come, for a bigger, family sized bed, as our little man loves to lie between us in the morning or when he has had a bad dream during the night. I love so many different looks from Boho chic, French inspired interiors, natural and nomadic to New York loft and city chic. When it comes to the perfect bedroom the bed is my number one priority. It's needs to be big and soft, with a comfortable but firm mattress adorned with lovely throws, blankets and pillows. The headboard is also important as it frames the bed, creates the style and a lot of thought needs to go into choosing which one you want, I love vintage metals ones, as well as the more natural wooden frames, but I think once we know what our new house looks like we will style it around that. I have put together a little Pinterest board of my inspiration and wanted to share it with you

Amazing huge windows

Another dream would be to have huge windows, I love natural light and I love the outside coming in. The image above is so beautiful and I dream of having wooden floor boards again, perhaps because when I was growing up in South Africa my bedroom I had two huge sash windows, one of which was facing Table mountain and had a beautiful view of a waterfall and my room also had wooden floor boards which is lovely and cool under bare-feet. I have such fond memories of my childhood I almost want to recreated it in our new home. My bed growing up had a reclaimed victorian bed frame which was so solid and beautiful and very shabby chic and here are a few that have a similar feel.
